What a shame. I hope he goes somewhere nice. Sounds like he could end up with more problems if they resort to ropes and lassoos and loads of scary people Lets hope someone doesn't just catch him and take him straight to the sales or something

Poor Boy. I just hope as Smudge has said he doesn't get taken to the nearest sale. He looks a nice sort too if some-one nice would have him and help him with his problems.

I cant believe he was once ridden, then turned out and never caught, surely had they have slowly limited his grazing , then maybe stabled him, this horse would have wanted to come in for food etc. Its a shame, when good horses go bad, normally due to ignorance from owners. Why then go out and buy another horse, allowing the problem to become a bigger problem. Shame really. I just hope he finds a good home.

there seems to be something not right here even though the add seems genuine.
I can't believe that a once ridden pony has been turned out and cannot be caught unless the owner is really novice??
It seems that the advertiser doesn't know the pony at all as she doesn't mention the pony's riding ability.
Just seems a little strange to me, but at least the pony is being advertised and not just left in the field and forgotton about

I'd love the challenge of trying to catch him but I need something bigger than 14hh as I'm 5ft 10.
If anybody from here wants to have a go then I might be tempted to act as a helper in catching him.

This just doesnt sound right to me. I dont really know why, just my gut feeling. Feel so sorry for the pony, bless him. Wonder how long he has been there and what state his feet/teeth are in. I am going to say this even though I may get blown away and need Gems tin hat, BUT, I dont think they are very animal orientated if they cant find a way round it, bearing in mind the owner has paid good money for him! Def wouldnt want them having an animal of mine. Modified to add, just read again and he must have had his shoes on since the summer if they havent been able to catch him!

I'm very tempted. My friend said just yesterday she fancies getting another pony and that she has a feeling one is on the way to find her. And he sounds the right type. So long as he was physically sound behavioural problems wouldn't matter as he'd be our project anyway.
I've never met a horse I couldn't catch with just me time and perseverance, I like a challenge too Nina.
Will try calling too.

i have just spoke to her, i am really intereste , but he is about a three hour drive for me . I may need to take you guys up on the help bit if i go for it. need to make some more phone calls. She says he was bought from the sales with shoes saddle bridle that sort of thing, the dealer was quite roof with him and was sold for 500 pound as a riding horse. An how he traveled ok in te trailer and then was literally thrown out in the field. Apparently the freind who is helping her is a bit of a dealer and her friend had the same idea. But all has gone wrong. She said the head coller is diggin into his head , he is out alone tonight and the last atemp of catchin ended up with the gate took down and him going through a barbed wire fence. But they have also had a horse wisperer to hi which cost them 80 pound got him into a stall and she touched him all over with a cane but ended it there then he was turned out again. his passport says he is six but they have not checked his teeth. does any one else want to check this out for me before i take it any further
