Arabheaven posted in good faith, made a genuine mistake and apologised, surely that's enough said on the matter? I don't think her comments regarding the trainer she did actually see were particularly strong or libellous either, they were just opinions.

I was lucky enough to have Willow chosen as a demo horse at Max's 'Ridden Communications' demo at Birchenley Manor/Talk of the North arena a few years ago, and the whole evening was fantastic. He had my very dominant mare worked out in minutes and the work he did with her did wonders for us. We also got an inadvertant loading help session after Willow decided at the end of the demo that she fancied Jo and Pelo (both stunning norses - RIP Pelo) far to much to want to go home! Haven't had a problem loading since! ;D I'd absolutely love to see him in demo again, I just hope he comes somewhere not to far from me again sometime soon!

Well I rate his Max and his methods and am praying that he has a speedy recovery. Having recently been to the Moorhouse Demo and having the pleasure of meeting both Sam and Max I can say I didn't see anything that concerned me at all. I also remember quite clearly Max stating that he looks back on his earlier years and cringes. I certainly cringe at things I did when a youngster, but hopefully through the years, we learn lessons that we can teach to others to prevent them making the same mistakes. Trouble is, it is also easy when you are well known, to be mistaken for another trainer in the same genre, and/or tarred with the same brush- been there, done that!! So dont feel too badly, Arabheaven! Max and Sam kindly allowed us to have our trade stand at his demo at Hartpury last week, and would have been at the next two venues too, had it not been for Max's accident. We had an excellent evening, and having not seen Max work for several years now, it was obvious how much he has refined and enlarged on his knowledge. I agree that not having the round pen is a major benefit- few riders have them and Max gave everyone plenty to be able to take home and try for themselves, delivered with gentle humour and enthusiasm, and it was plain for all to see how much he adores Jo. Was a shock to hear on Monday of his accident and we at EE all wish him a speedy recovery, and look forward to joining him at the rescheduled demos when he is better. Heather Moffett

Here's hoping Max makes a speedy full recovery. And that Sam is ok too. Must've been a shock and very frightening for her. Sending lots of good vibes both their ways.

if it makes you feel any better Arabheaven, when I read your description I thought of the person you now say it was. sexist p*g, I had to walk away from his demo he was so rude to the 'client', and very macho with the horses too.

Just a thought, would it be a good idea to edit that first post Arabheaven to say who you really meant? Not getting at you honestly, it's just sometimes I don't read a whole thread & it's possible to be left with that first impression! hope you don't mind me mentioning this.
But, I completely agree with your description relating to Gary Witheford - I nearly sent my horse there but he was so violent to one horse at his yard while he was showing us around I decided it wouldn't be a good idea! It's not libel if it's true....

Haven't read all this thread but just wanted to say have met Max and Sam on several occassions via demo's and recently took yearling and an older mare to be used at demo. All I will say is i would not anyone handle my horses ever if I had doubts that they would come away mentally or physically worse off, neither of mine were problem horses as such just wanted to learn more through good teacher.
Books: Birth to Backing is excellant only one of his I have read yet but xmas is looming!!

Yep I agree the DVD is very good and practical in being able to go backwards and forwards through the exercises as you feel you need to refer to them.
