Sixfootblonde - how are you "raising awareness", by saving a French horse? That is exactly what you are NOT doing. Also, what will you do if your horse suddenly requires veterinary attention/expert intervention, which may require large sums of money? I don't mean to be personal, but I didn't buy a horse until I knew beyond doubt that whatever he needed...I mean, whatever....he would get it. The initial outlay to me, is not what a horse's real cost is. How are we NOT raising awareness of the plight of these horses? I plan to give regular updates on here and on other boards on progress and I also presume others will too - which WILL help to raise awareness of what is going on. As opposed to letting them all just slip quietly away to the butcher. If she requires vet attention - firstly, I always have mine insured. Secondly, my vets will let me pay on a payment plan (as do most). How many people do buy horses who are not rich? Probably most of us. We do the best we can. Do you quiz everyone like this when they get a horse? If not, why not? Trust me - I have thought long and hard about this. I do not take on a horse lightly. I look after mine well. Maybe you would like to visit to judge for yourself? You are more than welcome

good for everyone saving these horses, someone above said he is nearly cleared out for how long I wonder just a couple of weeks probably. This need to be out to the wider public can anyone get it published in Italy itself, maybe lots of people are not aware of the fact that their salami is horsemeat. Also maybe push it out on the catholic issue about horsemeat I think someone else said they are not meant to eat it.

jinks it might even change the man who is selling these horses mind if he thinks he has another market for these horses he might change his mind about sending them all to slaughter don,t you think, it could happen it only takes one person to start changing i also think people tend to stay away from getting involved in big organisations as they feel their money would be lost and you hear of money not being put into good use, i mean how many times has things come on the tele people watch horrified then forget about it promise i am sorry but this is what i mean about people taking on horses you have only just joined and are expecting someone to give you a horse with the promise that you have a good home as i say the people who are giving these horses a home please be careful where they are going

The mare on the photo ...I've been given a contact number so pass onto a friend who I think is getting the Fjord mare and foal on Wednesday...is there anything you want to know?I can get her to take a look at her when she's there. There is also another mare and foal at the same place...all destined for Italy if not sold within a month
