I donated. I'd like to know what is happening to the reward appeal too but in the absence of people coming forward to say they donated, perhaps the holder of funds should just simply provide a record and that way donators can be contacted? Is that too simple?

It may be that the list has been mislaid or was not compiled to start with

with all due respect, This money was to be used as a reward and was not used for that purpose. The person holding the funds should have kept a strict record of who paid what. I would have hope that the monies have been placed in a high interest account, and when the time was ready it would have increased by at least a little.
I feel that the money would be a good starting point for the MAGGIE'S LAW campaign.
I hope this doesn't sound to presumptuous.

It may be that the list has been mislaid or was not compiled to start with That would be really bad practice! If I were responsible for holding any funds, I'd make absolutely certain I made no mistake so that no-one could question my integrity. What on earth is going on? Where is the appeal fund? This is now very worrying.

Who set it up in the first place? Or who was meant to be the fund holder?

JG holds the fund and it is safe. The reason there isn't a complete list is because some people sent cheques with no address or username, and some used Paypal (so she has names) but did not cross reference to who they were on which message board.

JG collected the funds on behalf of everyone else. As Suzyq has already posted, Not everone supplied a name or user name - some just posted cheques or Paypal'd using their real name rather than a login name. In that scenario its rather hard to keep records of who has donated what.
Maybe the powers that be at IHDG shouldnt have been so hasty in banning JG - Then she could post on here to explain all of this herself

Sorry, I don't know anything about charity but why would a record of who paid what be kept? I'm sure most charities have no idea who donates to them other than regular donators who pay by bank standing order. Those people standiing in the supermarket with a bucket don't ask for your name and address.
Personally, and I could be wrong about this, I think the only important thing is that there is a record of all the money coming in and by what source, i.e. Paypal from email address........on ........date. And the most important thing being that all the money is where it should be.
Don't know who JG is.........Janet George?? I'm absolutely sure their integrity will be just fine, particularly if it is Janet George.
