Oh my goodness we all know the value of feedback but this is still pretty scarey - so if you go to a Monty (and Kelly!) demo please would you report back how you enjoyed it? What were the most educational bits? The most entertaining bits? What would you like more of? Less of? Was there anything you didn't understand or we could do better? Is what we are showing of benefit to you and your horses do you feel? Do you feel 'inspired' in any way?! Or not?!

Kelly I think this is very intutive of you to take on. Constructive is what it is about..learn and move on
That way you hopefully will be giving the public what they want.. so they will want more..

Oh I'm so JEALOUS !!!!!!! Wanted to come over for a demo but just not possible this time round.
Kelly, please PLEASE can you discuss with Monty both of you coming over to France next year ? Paris went REALLY well and there's certainly enough volunteers here in the South-West to provide a complete support team ;D (And Laura found a brilliant venue ....)
Pretty PRETTY PLEASE?
Have a great tour !!!

Yay....I'm the first to give a report.....hot off the press!
I went to Rodbaston tonight (with Gem and Selkie) and I loved every minute of it! Things did seem a bit chaotic at times, but they were just teething troubles for the first show I think.
I personally loved the riding demos by Kelly and the wonderful Pie and Monty and the stunningly gorgeous Archie, but I thought that this part of the demo would probably not appeal to a non-rider or non-horse-owner.
For example, my friend (non horsey) said she didn't even know what 'spooky' meant, let alone know what the correct canter lead was! But, I think it's a safe bet that 95% of the audience were horsey people, so in my opinion, the content was just about right.
But, I would have liked to have seen another ridden 'problem' worked on, such as a serial bucker, for example.

Ive just got back from that one to and i thought it was BRILLIENT!!! My favort bit was when the horse whent into the box stood at the top and lookt at evry one as if to say hi all!! The most educational bit for me was when he said how to go off in the right lead ive never been able to do that and now i know how!!!
I deffinatly feel inspired!!!

I went to the Rodbaston demo last night and though it was absolutely fantastic. Watching Monty riding Archie was just amazing and so inspirational. My non horsey OH and 9 year old stepson went with me and I was worried that they would get bored but they loved every minute of it. My OH now knows how to spot if a horse is on the correct canter lead. Even more shocking, he now wants to learn how to ride (Sadly he thinks he will learn to ride like Monty after a few lessons and be able to leap on my arab and get him spinning that fast. I'll give him a reality check soon ) Kelly riding Pie was lovely too, they are such a good partnership and make things look deceptively easy. It was so funny when they were going towards the teeter totter Monty kept saying "it's the wrong way" and Pie just went over not worried which way it was I am truly inspired and my only criticism is this - I've been trying to get an RA out to help me and its proving challenging to get someone to North Staffordshire within a reasonable travel cost.

Hi, I went as a helper and hopefully I was better than last time! The day was fab, everyone is so friendly and works so hard. It does get chaotic but not every time will be the same when you are working with horses and different people all the time I guess. Kelly, Monty and the horses are inspirational ( I've been out practicing this morning ) but also the people who come to watch. I asked one lady about her horse and she told me she didn't own one, said she wasn't horsey and was scared of them. I was shocked and asked her why she was there and she told me she thought Monty was wonderful and always went to see him when she could. How that for dedication? I had a great day, can't wait for Myerscough!

I was there - as chunky has already mentioned! It was the first time I'd managed to get to a demo, and I really enjoyed it, especially Gerry (de-spooking) and Ticky (loading). I would also like to have seen a ridden problem too. It's hard to say what I didn't like as much - maybe some of the western riding, that's probably just because I don't do it, but having said that it was still absolutely fascinating to see just how responsive Monty's horse (Archie) was, so I can't say I didn't like it!! One very minor complaint though - there were no copies of Leading & Loading at the 'shop'! So to answer your questions: How you enjoyed it? - I enjoyed it immensely! What were the most educational bits? - The loading and de-spooking The most entertaining bits? - Kelly & Pie doing the Trec obstacles. Also loved the crocodiles - my lad knows that there are crocodiles in ALL puddles! What would you like more of? - Ridden problems and any other difficulties really - it was amazing to watch. Less of? - not really sure, couldn't we just have longer demos? lol Was there anything you didn't understand or we could do better? - I was a bit confused by the 'half pass' simply because my understanding of a half pass appears to be slightly different Is what we are showing of benefit to you and your horses do you feel? - YES, definitely! I feel a lot more positive about the (comparatively minor) loading problem my horse has developed recently Do you feel 'inspired' in any way?! - As above, definitely! I REALLY want to do the 5 day course once I can afford it And if my horse weren't currently away on loan due to my circumstances, I'd be with him now doing some groundwork And Pie is gorgeous! ;D

I was there and I loved it Though slightly scary moment when Monty's archie galloped straight towards us Kelly - loved Pie he was fab and I liked your demo with him, I would like to have seen another ridden problem tackled The only thing I found a bit hmmm frustrating was the loading when they used the pannels because I dont see many owners having pannels lying around so its harder to see how that can be worked through. I met Finn which was nice to add another Dger face to the name,

I wasnt there but just wanted to say that I think it is really excellent (and brave!) that you have asked for opinions on a public forum. Most sites would just pick the good comments and post them up,so I am really impressed by the way you are genuinely wanting everybodys opinion.

Hi All
I went and thought it was amazing once again. I loved seeing Monty ride he was amazing and so was Archie. Kelly and Pie also its hard to describe in words but the bond between horses and both Kelly and Monty is just beautiful, inspirational. I found it so usefull when Monty was explaining his moves i will deffinately try these when Kizzy is better. I cant wait to have as much fun as Kelly and Pie did with the trec obsticles. When Monty made us clap and the horse ran to him it made me happy to know that my horse also runs to me if she hears a bang. I loved the loading as it brought back memories as my horse didnt like to load and although i didnt have a nice lorry or metal gates its still the same process really as the horse needs to trust and want to be with you. I will deffinately be going on as many courses as i can. I also bought some books including Kellys new one and i am so going to follow my dreamsxx I want to promote IH and help people and horses and have fun doing what i love. Hopefully i will meet my teacher like Kelly did and be able to work in helping horses and people. I know it would have been nice to see more but really the time flies and you cant fit more inxxx Thanks for such an inspirational eveningxxKizzy and Sarahxx

Another fantastic demo at Rodbaston on Saturday night. I found it interesting that this time Monty worked with the dually halter first and then went through the more expected join up methods with Gerry the spooky horse. Doing it this way round really 'clicked' with me as I had never considered that what I achieve on the ground is the same as 'traditional' join up, but by Monty explaining it I realized that I really am achieving join up, just without a round pen! I love the way Monty keeps up a commentary whilst he's working with the horses, and explains that what he's doing isn't taking a lot of time to be effective, as a 'normal' rider I find it reassuring that it IS possible to achieve results without devoting 8 hours a day to a problem. Both Monty and Kelly make things look so easy, yet always emphasize that what they are doing is possible for anyone who takes the time to learn. Brilliant riding displays, simply inspirational to see Monty ride and hear his explanations of the aids to change canter leads. An area where a lot of traditional instructors tend to try to mystify riders was simplified in a moment ... by a cowboy
