Hi AH, agree with Cubic, if you are using a snaffle of any sort, def. use only one reing or it will look incorrect. Tie for showing unless evening perf. then a stock. We always use pred. navy backdrop colour in tie with either dots/diamonds/pattern with a colour to match buttonhole/browband colouring. Definately go with raiding OH's tie rack!! Do you want to borrow a tie we have lots of diff. ones here. If you promise to send it back could lend you the pelham if we have the right size

Err, you can't have two reins with a hanging snaffle, it's a one rein bit?

thats a hanging snaffle. wish id checked on here before going to tack shop, they said the same - its only one rein think caroline has got a bit confused... they suggested a jointed pelham but nah im juts gonna stick to my snaffle and ride him in a cavesson methinks. thanks though for TRYING to save me embarassment lol OH has a navy blue tie with navy dots on but the dots are really small and it just looks navy from a distance - that ok?

Ohhhh thats what one is (have seen them before) Thanks. That tiewill be ok, but between now and then, as Cubic says, look in Charity shops, they are often a goldmine of ties. Re quarter Marks, if your friend knows the logistics, could you not show her my VERY detailed description of how to do them that I posted on your Quarter mark thread, she would understand I'm sure.

I don't know if it's any help, but in the SOES catalogue it said..." Ponies of 148cm and under are not to be ridden by the judge at any Cherif Championship qualifying show, but will give an individual show."

zac is over 148cm unless of course she cheats and takes his high heels off and loses a few cms somewhere on the measuring stick.
the hanging snaffle looks like an eggbutt, french link with an extra hanging bit (is this why they call it hanging?). why oh why do the shows have to have all this rubbish?? a simple loose ring snaffle should not be marked down. it just doesnt make any sense at all.
heidi are you the heidi i know from the arabian site?

Arabmania, if you really want to wear your own snaffle, then that will be as acceptable as the Fillet Beaucher (sp?) the correct name for a Hanging Cheek Snaffle, the FB is just in 'fashion' just now with lead rein and first riddens and other novices but if it were me and I was definately not using pelham or double then my ordinary eggbutt or loose ring is what I would go for. So use if you are happier with it. I hope you let us know how it goes too and take lots of pics of you and neddy.
