Vet reckons Ollie is brown... I love his colour - but it sounds so boring " I have a brown horse" LOL

I'd guess that brown is probably less common than bay - and who cares if it sounds boring, he's a beautiful colour!

LOL Smudge! Kira's classed as 'brown' on her passport, but I think she's dark bay ... She changes colour significantly winter to summer though - looks woolly and brown in the winter, and sleek and bay in the summer!

I have a reg Connie that looks brown. Genetically he is a dilute black or black buckskin. He is the most beautiful dark chocolate brown in summer. The vet asked me what colour he was when he came to geld him this summer, he really does stand out.

if you are talking about my horse he's not a pony, he's a foal, and he's brown because he has a brown mane and tail - not black.

I think Lotuspoint Joe was referring to Gem's picture Smudge? I've got a plain brown mare - no white bits, just dark brown all over. Apparently, can't remember the old wive's tale exactly, plain brown horses are the best type to have

Ive been reliably informed my cob is brown (thankyou suewhitmore & fances). Hes got brown legs instaed of balck & his mane & tail are brown as opposed to black. I happen to think its a rather nice colour! Ive already posted pics on another thread, but may as well add them to this one to.
