Are you out there?
I'm in South Warwickshire near Southam.
If your interested in a regional interest group or maybe a riding club of some sort I'd be up for trying to get it off the ground. Alternatively, just say hi for now.

Hi Sarah
I was starting to feel a bit lonely here in Warwickshire, so thank you for your reply.
Yes, it is a bit of a distance. Warks is one of those long-skinny counties that borders loads of other counties.
What sort of thing are you interested in? What do you do with your horses? Have you done any courses or been to any demos.
I have 4 Foresters, which are currently decorating my pasture and not much else as I'm due to have my first baby in about a month. I qualified as a BHS AI 15 years ago, this qualifies me to teach and gives me cheap insurance but I have moved away from the BHS training I received years ago. In the last 8 years I've gained a Equine Degree, completed courses with Kelly and Ian, riding lessons and teacher training with Mary Wanless, riding lessons with Sylvia Loch and her colleague D. Francisco de Braganca in Portugal, qualified as a human & equine bowen therapist.
When I start riding again I'm hoping to do a bit of hacking, schooling and further training with Mary Wanless. I'll need to restart the ponies as they've had the best part of a year off work and with a baby in tow I have low expectations for my riding. I enjoy lectures, demos and learning new things.

Hi Caspar
Yes, you are definately local to me. I've got a very good friend in Braunston - that can't be far from you.

Excellent, it's made my day that there is someone nearby.
Do you know of any interesting demos in the area? I know about Grants open day this weekend but I'm going to Cornwall for the bank holiday - my last weekend away with hubby before the baby arrives!

They sometimes have different demos/trainers etc at Moulton College, depending on what you like to see. Some I can think of include Oliver Townend and Tim Stockdale. Plus Grant and Dan did a Demo there I believe.
The demos at Holdenby by Peter Maddison-Greenwell and his team are amazing. They have some beautiful Spanish horses and do some great classical dressage demonstrations as well as some of the traditional Spanish style riding. I've had a couple of lessons with him since (won the first one at a raffle during the first demonstration) which has been fantastic.
Will rack my brains for other things, can't think of anything off of the top of my head right now.
Have a great weekend away with hubby - and good luck with the baby!

Hi Casper
Yes we had a great time, lovely weather and very relaxing. We went to a course run by Dick Strawbridge from the bbc 2 programme It's not easy being green. We now want to build a eco home complete with wind turbines and a composting toilet!
Hubby's away with work until Friday, he's gone to Ukraine. It takes 2 days to get in and 2 days to get out, so with just 3 weeks to my due date I hope this baby doesn't arrive too early.

Oh, you mean D!CK !!!!! I bet that course was really interesting, I did enjoy the series. If you have any links or info on composting toilets, would you bung em in this direction please? Our local Community Garden want one, but no-one has a clue how so they're thinking of buying . I've said they ought to DIY. I'm over in Beds, not too close, but have been to the PMG demos of which Casper (hi!!) speaks. I think you'd enjoy the classical/working equitation side of it - certainly fits in with what you've been doing. I bet there's some like-minded people there. And if this is of any interest they're at Stoneleigh soon, if you've not foaled by then!! Peter M-G will perform 2 feature displays each day at The Blue Waters National Dressage Championships on the 15th and 16th September 2007 at Stoneleigh. Further information for the event is on www.bdchampionships.co.uk

Hi RJ Yes, it was a great course. I must admit though when they were talking about biodiesel I went in the kitchen, put my feet up and chated to D!ck's wife about green nappies, and missed the bit about the composting toilet. I did have a look at it before I left. You couldn't go to New House Farm without seeing the composting toilet. When hubby gets back from Ukraine I'll ask him what was discussed, in the mean time the website is www.itsnoteasybeinggreen.org there is a forum with lots of helpful advice. I would love to go to Stonleigh for the National Dressage Champs, but I think I'm going to have to give it a miss this time, but the PMG stuff sounds interesting. Thanks gina

Off to see PMG this evening with Jill and Louise C from the board. Sadly rj can't make it this time :-( When you have had your baby Gina you really will have to come over there, it is brilliant. I've had a couple of lessons with Peter as well, and they were brilliant.

Casper - You'll have to tell me all about it tomorrow. I'd love to come over and see what it's all about, I've been to some CRC events and seen a bit of working equitation.
I hope I'll be able to cope when the baby arrives, as at the moment I can't wait to get back on the ponies. Yesterday I spent the day with Mary Wanless, I only did a little bit of co-teaching but really enjoyed it - I miss that part of my life and hope I can cope with motherhood and horses.
