If you think her temperament is good enough (thinking back to when you backed her) then it sounds like a good deal at £1300 or so. Tarted up and ridden on for a couple of weeks she'd be worth double in today's market!

she has lovely colouration! a real stunner! i would say at the moment with tack and rugs she's worth about £1300ish but if you bring her on a bit more and get her looking even better you could expect at least £1800! you will also NEED to get her a passport! the fines are in place for not having them!

I think she is worth about £1200 as she is right now. Agree with others, a bit of riding on & tarting up, and she would be worth a good bit more. Round this way, coloured mares like her at her current level are fetching between £1k - £1.5k depending on paces & conformation.

Sorry but i think that some of prices are a little unrealistic. I've been looking for quite some time for a horse like this. If She stood at 15hh then some of these prices would reflect what you would expect to pay but are still cheap. Given that she is over 15.2 you could expect to pay anywhere up to 4000 for her. There are very few traditional type cobs of this height and given that she's a mare, completely untouched she should fetch a good price. Snap her up as you have yourself a bargain even at the price she's been offered you at. Don't suppose they have two? ?

Clair - £4000 for a horse that hasn't done anything for 3 years, no vaccinations, no passport? No chance!

I Know it sounds crazy, but this type at this height are fetching silly money. I've been looking now for nearly two years and for a two year old they are starting at a minimum of 2.5k.
15hh and under is a different ball game as there are plenty of them. upto 15.2 they are about, but over 15.2 it's a very closed market and breders will pay good money for them. The pitty is that all our good stock is now abroad.
What i have found since my quest began is that i can import one cheaper than i can buy one over here.
If You can find me one two years plus to make a minimum of 15.3, full feather for less that 2k please tell me about it as i can't find one and i have trawled every web site, paper and mag for nearly two years to try to.

Clair, are you looking in the right places? If you go to the sales there are often horses just like you are looking for. Weight carriers are hard to come by, but I tend to find horses to make/at 15hh-15.1 of this type are more expensive as their owners think they will make a 'show cob'.

There seem to be plenty of 4 year old just backed cobs around at £2500 plus. I dont actually like the look of that cob at all, I dont like her head or her colour so I wouldnt buy her but thats my personal choice. If she is a bit neglected and you can get her at that price I would jump at it, bring her on and sell her for double.
