Hellooo! there are bound to be more scots here so Hi to all, sure I have met some on SR - but I thought I would join in here too... not liek I have work to do or anytihng important like that ;D! I have 2 horses & a shetland. I love showing/racing and dressage in that order! I can't jump anymore as i have a head/dizzy problem but once enjoyed jumping affiliated to fairly good standard. Have worked with horses in past and now settled/married & family consisting of mainly pets & other like minded people - no relatives allowed! Hope that is good enough for an introduction PP

Hi PP, there are quite a few people who post on here from Scotland. I am not a native but have lived here for nearly 30 years. I'm a happy hacker and have a horse and 2 ponies.
Be warned - this site can be very addictive!

Hello and welcome PP. I'm another one so you are not alone. What do you do with the Shetland?

thanks tl & cobby. My shetland is a 2 year old - he is primarily a companion to the 2 horses but I will break him to harness in the long term, meanwhile he may get to do some inhand next summer just for fun though as he is not a show standard shelt! here is a photo:

Aww, he's a cute wee man. You will likely have heard of The Flying Carrot? He grazed with us as a wean. Daughter has Mojo of Mawbray out on loan.

Hi! I'm in the Lothians/Borders. I have two big daft geldings who both had past careers as showjumpers. Great to hear from other Scots! x

Hi fella scots! well im not actually Scottish, just an incomer for the last few months, living just outside Ellon, Aberdeenshire. Must be fairly near you then ponyplanet1 ! I have an ex racer, a cob x, 3 rescue ponies, and my newest fella enormous Sam (nicknamed Spam ooops sorry Hefina lol) who was going to be shot because of his poor feet and attitude, but is now happily living with the gang here!

Im from Greenock, Inverclyde. I have got a 8 year old Clydesdale and a 22 year old HighlandxArab. Dont really do much with them, riding wise. The Clydesdale needs bringing on.
There are more Scots on here than i thought!

Wills, how could we ever forget you cherub?
Hi Alison, are you going to ride the Clydesdale? There are classes for them now you know! How is he/she bred? Fabulous horses, I love them.

I have only ridden the Clydesdale two or three times. I find her toooo big. (i dont like heights), but my oh rides her, although not very ofter as he is self taught and we had to back the horse ourself. There is a lack of riders for a big horse like her, and not many teachers either!
She is a real big gentle giant. I have her papers. As far as i am told she is from good breeding. We bought her from a man who got her thinking she was in foal, but finding out she wasnt, he didnt want her anymore, so we stepped in.

What a lucky girl that you were prepared to take her on Alison. I sometimes think they get a rough deal out of life.
