Jeez they are an evil couple the Parelli's. How can people admire such obvious cruelty!

I have just e-mailed our Regional Development and Welfare Officers expressing my views and giving them the UT links (thank you Heather) if anyone would like the contact details of their own regional officers please PM me and I will provide their e-mail addresses. You don't have to be a member to contact them with your concerns

What tremendous empathy(!) she has to see that the horse needs something different to what she is doing!!!!!!! I'll be passing on my thoughts Would be nice to catch up with the horse or owner and see how it played out for them after such expert help!!!

"Good clunk" I would also leave BHS if I can get gold insurance elsewhere. Poor horse.

The Driving Society or Driving Club (not exactly sure what they are called) provide similar cover and a bit cheaper too I believe. A few people in our bridleways group are with them. But the BHS dont just provide third party insurance they also do things for access and welfare. Perhaps if all the members got together and asked that all of their mail, newsletters and other stuff posted out to them did not have any references at all to Parelli as it is offensive to them and they are the paying members that might help?

If this is the current stance on welfare, Donna, I will be having something to say about it at our committee meeting on the 11th!! The BHS is in any case, nothing, without the volunteers who do wonderful work in welfare and access.

I gave a £1350 saddle to the BHS to raffle for BHS Devon branch. The raffle has been given no publicity in British Horse, and had I not sold a lot of books myself, including two whole days of my time given, selling them on the BHS stand at the SW Equine Christmas Fair, we would have barely raised £400- had it been given publicity in British Horse, I am certain we would have sold a lot more tickets.
As it is, I donated the saddle, plus, have sold over 30 books in addition to those I sold on the stand at Westpoint! The Parelli tickets are worth about £600 in total, but warrant a whole page in the magazine. I am more than a little pissed off about that too, I can tell you!

They really are going off track with this one How can they even appear to support an organisation as controversial as the Parellis When the people at the top are abusive, and it has been documented as in those videos, there shouldn't be any question of whether to promote them or not. They poke fun at and discredit other methods so, effectively, are saying that what the BHS teaches is incorrect. Why would they want any involvement with them? It just doesn't make any sense

That poor horse is totally confused and so am I. Why don't they do the obvious thing and just ask verbally for 'back'? Good luck Heather - I think you are going to need it as it seems to me that you are dealing with dinosaurs. Jacquie.
