No bad thing at all - I bet the average person in the street wouldn't be impressed if they saw it.

I'm a bit worried about this from WHW though. " Supporters of rollkur say it is a tool to improve the suppleness of a horse. "In the right hands it is a valuable training method, and it cannot make a horse's tongue go blue, no matter what people seem to think," said Roly Owers, of the World Horse Welfare charity."Strange when he can be so definite on this one aspect when many say there is no conclusive evidence about any aspect of R. either way!! Mmmm I hope the inquiry includes bit pressure and effect on breathing then!!!

A link to a post on a pro rollkur forum about a new study on breathing in flexed and non flexed neck position. Sadly only a short overview is translated the study is in German but I don't know how to do an internet translation... Catrin are you there??? Lol forum.cyberhorse.com.au/forums/showthread.php?s=4a77259c2d26bd0a0a23713207158314&t=67766It seems it shows that hyperflexion does interfere with breathing with of course corresponding increase in heart rate etc. Why are these studies ignored?? Are they not valid?

Post copiedfrom Heather's facebook group from Press office of FEI.
Regards - Richard Johnson - FEI Director of Communications
As announced last week, a Round Table conference will take place on 9 February 2010 in Lausanne. The meeting will deal with the issue of hyperflexion and interests groups f...rom all sides of the debate such as riders, trainers, veterinarians, stewards, National Federations, welfare organisations and the FEI will be represented. FEI President HRH Princess Haya will also be in attendance. The objective of the meeting is, by taking into consideration all perspectives, to provide guidance for all those competing in the sport on what is and what is not allowed, what the implications for horse welfare are and to ensure the image of the sport is protected. Any guidance or statement that may result from this meeting will be applicable to all FEI disciplines.
