Enjoyed the Shuttleworth demo. Thought Catherine and Hattie were stars. Couldn't have imagined Hattie coping with that even a year ago.
I thought Caesar had come on a lot from the Monty demo I saw him at. He looked much more mature. I'd have loved to know how you taught the "stopping when the rider is about to fall off" trick. That looks like a useful one to teach every horse!
I think it would help to explain what the next steps are with a horse that is just backed e.g. teaching them leg aids etc.
Really like the beginning bit with Ian. I bet he loses a few pounds on those tours!

Hi Guys I helped at the Doncaster masterclass and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I never thought that I could expound soooo many virtues of the dually headcollar and the wip-wop rope. My enthusiasm has bounded over such that 3 people on my yard have now bought headcollars online and I feel so proud. I'm hoping to help with Monty's tour in the Autumn fingers crossed

I believe it was everything you promised too Kelly. Today, I saw a friend who attended as a spectator. Her mare is actually a very good loader but she bangs a lot in the trailer and is always hot, sometimes sweaty, at the end of even short journeys. So last weekend, she took her out without her usual travel boots and there wasn't a peep out of her and a cool horse at the other end. She is now working on padding out the breast bar and is wondering if that was the cause of the Sweeney shoulder just recently diagnosed. I was amazed at what might be considered a small detail has made such an impact on one owner and her horse, simply from a demo. It's all good!

Absolutely - CircusDancer it's so satisfying to hear that we can really make a difference for horses in seemingly small (but important to them!) ways. Many thanks for your support everyone. Can't wait for next May - though really looking forward to having Monty back for Autumn tour too! Kx

Congratulations Kelly!
I went to shuttleworth and my Mum persuaded me to take her along. We both enjoyed it, it was good to see the RAs doing their bit aswell. It's makes you feel a lot happier about getting someone to help if you have talked to them and watched them work first. Don't tell Monty, but my Mum thought it was better than the Monty shows she saw. Less of a show, more of an explanation and more personal which she liked. She's already told me she wants to see Monty in the Autumn though!
Ceasar has really come on since I saw him at the Monty demo. The stopping when falling off idea is a good one.
PS: We both liked not having to wear thermals.

Forgot to add, next time I would encourage (ahem!) more people to come and see your lecture demos as I feel they would enjoy them and gain a lot from them. If you want posters putting up if you come to this area, I would be very happy to put some out in local tack shops etc for you.

Thanks to Kelly, Pie, Cesar and all those involved, an amazing evening.

Hello again, another idea for you.....I seem to end up working with a lot of "plod" types, who are in as much need for re-schooling or lightening to the aids as any young flighty thing, and have no trouble understanding sensitive types, but cant for the life of me work out how to get planters and plods to get trotting round on the long lines....so maybe showing some tips for these older, de-spooked ploddys......(I run out of energy before we have enev got a whole circuit of trot, am working on it though, by getting someone to lead them while I shout encouraging voive aids, to help me build fitteness more than anything atm)

Telling everyone in North Yorkshire for the Askham Bryan one in York. 5 of us going from our yard, plus put my horsey forward for the bad loader experience - so fingers crossed for him. See you in York. Stevie
