Hmmmm i have to say as ID's are my favorite breed, i would rather go that way. I have noticed that quite a lot of young stallions have Powerswood Purple in their breeding also, so do i avoid these? Have noticed these stallions are also a bit long in the back Yep. Powerswood Purple stock CAN come up a bit long (and a bit light!) This chap is RID by Powerswood Purple - but he is rather more 'sport' than RID -

Sorry no -------------------dreadful foreleg to start with-----------------------------------No Funny you should say that ..... When the Inspectors were here in September I got them to look at my yearling colt, Macha Prince, who I think is STUNNING. They agreed - but couldn't get over the fact that he was bay AND he had a good foreleg. According to the senior Inspector, bad forelegs are the norm in brown/bay RIDs. Personally, I think she'd do well with Raj - (admittedly I'm biased) and there's a 25% chance it WOULDN'T be grey!

I LOVE Primitive Rising - but I don't like ISH crossed onto ISH - not if I want a bit more than a lottery result. In fact I don't like ANY cross-bred bred with cross-bred - the 'mix' can be wonderful - but it can just as easily be b....... awful too! So a HEAVY ISH I would put to a TB if I wanted an eventer. A lighter ISH - or one lacking a*se, I would put to an RID - because if it's TOO heavy for me I know I can sell it for a small fortune to an 18 stone MFH!

Ahh but Janet, A good TB can also put quality bone on anything and quality is always preferable to quantity. Don't you have a nice bay stallion? what is that?

ok Janet, can you quickly explain how the stud thing works. If i'm not keen for my mare to leave me, (she is a bad traveller) can i get frozen semen or have her A1 at my end by the vet and if i could get her to you, how long do you keep her for covering?
