Just seen this - oh Laura, how utterly awful, I'm so sorry. What a relief that your boys are ok ish today - and what a huge relief that no-one was hurt.
Hope you're okay too and that you have the chance to look after yourself and take it a bit easy - just the worst and most shocking experience for you. xx

Hope they both make a full recovery and I would imagine that if they are eating even just hay they will be getting beyond the risk of colic. If they like sugarbeet now would be a good time to just give them a big tasty wet feed as sugarbeet is a mild laxitive and will keep them pooing

Just seen this too. Oh no Laura, I'm so sorry to hear what a terrifying ordeal you've had I am so glad you got BF and Biscuit home safely and hope they are soon feeling better. I too have had various loose ponies on the roads at various times in my horse-owning career. It can happen, no matter how careful you are. One of mine went miles along the roads once when I fell off in the woods and he took himself back home. (Luckily he was ok but I know how terrifying it is). Do keep us updated. And (((HUGS))) to all of you. Anne x

Oh my lord. I can imagine few things more terrifying for horse owners to deal with. Thankfully your boys live to tell the tale and I wish them both a speedy recovery. And you too. It will take you a while to calm down from this nightmare, but give yourself time.
It sounds like you, and others, did everything you could as best you could in what was a very scary situation. As others have said, this can happen to even the most careful owner so you must try not to beat yourself up about it.
Take care x

Oh Laura, I have only just seen this too - I'm so glad they are on the mend and you have the lovely Liz P on hand as well. Sending healing vibes to you all and second what several others have said about not blaming yourself. It has happened to so many people on here, myself included. It was just an unfortunate incident, no blame to be apportioned xxx

Goodness, I have only just seen this. What an horrific ordeal for you all. How are they both tonight Laura ? Hoping that they are both through the shock stage and beginning to feel less sore. You must feel absolutely shattered. Is there anything we can do even with the vast miles between us ? Feel helpless just sending you hugs xx

you guys are great thanks so much for the kind words its really made me feel so much better Well big fella seems back to normal and to show his disgust at having to be on box rest he filled his large water trug up with sloppy poo and made so much mess it took 3 barrows to muck out this eve Little Biscuit is ok, still resting hind leg quite a bit but lots better just think he needs rest and he will be fine. to encourage them to actually eat their painkillers in their speedy beat i had to had a few drops of mollasses Biscuit then ate half of it and BF scoffed the lot thanks to lizp for checking on them at lunchtime today My boys have had a lucky escape, I am so sorry for those that havent been so lucky, and I'm so so sorry Lesley to hear you lost one on the roads I never knew how devastating so sorry you had to go through that x
