Not for £900. I bought Dolly as a rising 3 year old New Forest for £400.

No. We've bought several rising 3 and 5yos ready to break and never spend more than £400 (or look very hard). Once broken and going sweetly a 13.2hh would fetch £800-1500 and a 14.2hh a few hundred more.
If they are well bred and stunning to look at (ie potential to show at county level), then £900 would be fair, but still expensive.

Would need to be cheaper and to grow to a full up 14.2 as a childs pony would not be marketable as a 4 year old

Depends on what he looked like. If show quality then, yes I'd pay £900.
But like the other have said, depends on height etc.

ok i will re frase my question, new forest for sale now , two in aprill, he is gelded and rose grey, halter broken standing at 13 3 now. Will take food from your hand but thats it. Gentleman who buys them from new forest by the 100. and sells them at blidworth. Any how. suggestion as your polls you guys did were more for horses that were handled and going nice on the ground. Buy for 400 sell leading, traffic , feet, poss bitted, that kind of thing. market price people would pay. would you pay between 6 - 700 for this sort of horse handled

Nope. Dolly was handled, used to traffic having spent her first year on the Forest, and picked her feet up - not perfectly or consistently but it only took a week to get her to pick them up easily each time when I got her. She led ok and again that improved quickly when she was with me. And again, I paid £400 for her way back then When she was 4 and backed but very green, then I'd say that she was worth £600-700. Now, hacking out sensibly alone or in company and pretty much perfect from the ground I'd value her at £1500 (aged 6).
