Shame really it will if done correctly have cost a great deal more than a few hundred pounds to get it to that stage but if there is no market forthe commodity it will not command the price. This is why breeders of popular horses try to sell their foals for several thousand pounds as at two rising three they are just a glorified lawnmower. Foalies are cute and full of potential and dreams at two they are often a bit like they have been put together by a commitee are almost out of the youngstock showing classes and are not ready to do a great job in the riddens. If I was venturing into what you are doing I would buy no younger than rising 4 there is a market if somewhat limited one for well started youngsters. The majority as stated by the H&H the other week want ready to compete animals and will pay the money for them

Why don't you go to the Beauli sales where what you are looking for go for £50 upwards?
For £900 you are getting a barely handled (forest bred?) rising 3yo which you are unlikely to be able to make a profit on for at least 14months (the spring of when s/he's 4), and even then the profit will be small.
If you're wanting to break even or make money you have to look for horses that are advertised for less than they're worth, which, combined with your hard work will cause them to increase in value significantly, rather than by a few hundred pounds in a year.
