I'm going to actually be at home in my office for the next week and a half so I was thinking, if any of you are up for it, shall we try doing a very focused 'Perfect Confidence' study group and I'll facilitate and coach you guys for the next 10 days on your most pressing confidence issues? I'm quite familiar with the contents of 'Perfect Confidence' and I've even got a copy of it (though I just went to put my hands on it and it's not on the shelf - hopefully, I've not lent it out to someone cos if I have, I'm not sure who... ) Only prerequisite is that you've got a copy of PC and that you've read it at least once. I'm going to be quite strict on that point as I'm hoping some of the small number of people who may have bought the book and not actually have got round to it might decide to do so! LOL (It's really a great book and not at all a chore to read.) The other point to bear in mind is that this will be on an open forum, so you have to be OK with that. However, if at any point I think I might want to raise something that could be a bit sensitive I will PM you beforehand or if you want to drop out or stop participation or say something in confidence (f-nar, the pun ) then just PM me. Anyone up for it? Bit of an experiment in how far we can get in a concentrated amount of time? Oo, perhaps I should add a note about me. I'm a Chartered Occupational Psychologist specialising in personal change and development and Kelly employed me as a consultant on the psychological aspects of confidence for the Perfect Confidence book.

Ooo, cool! This is going to be fun! ;D OK, let's say we'll all come on once a day at least (ahem, for some of us it's rather more) and that I will start this evening with the first 'instructions'. I think I'm going to have to be quite structured and focused because 10 days isn't that much time for us to work on things. But it'll be interesting to see how far we can get when we put our minds to it.

This is an offer to be grabbed with both hands.
I will check in daily, ma'am... I assume it's OK if I'm not riding (or seeing the horse even) in the next 10 days due to broken ankle... will draw on other facets in my daily life or most recent riding experiences if that works!
and can I be excused for Saturday please as I will be Scouting away at Cub Camp...
This is gonna be interesting!

I'd really like to take part in this too. I have no problem with checking in every day.

Hi everyone! ;D I think scan-reading is fine though this next week might involve going back and reading the odd chapter in a bit more depth. Re: not having horse access - well, let's see what happens. It may well depend on what you want to work on - or it may be that we can just get so far and then you'll have to wait until you can get out to your horse before you can put your ideas into practice. And I could well imagine that, even after the 10 days, if we have some fun and make some progress, you'll still be able to come back to the PC section and get some more help and inspiration. I think as long as we keep this quite light, see it as an experiment for all of us and have a play around, we can't help but succeed. We might even be quite startled at how far we can get.

Can I just ask - is there anyone out there who's looking at this and thinking to themselves 'I can't go for that because I bet my problem's not good enough/not interesting enough/too hard to solve' (delete as appropriate ) - or some other reason? The reason I ask is because I remember I once stopped myself going for a coaching course I wanted to do because the advert had said the first 12 people to sign up would be coached by the top coach and I immediately thought 'ah, I bet it's too late and I won't get on the course with the top coach now' - turns out I would have cos the uptake was slower than I'd imagined, even for this really popular guy. So I really tripped over my own thinking on that one.. LOL Anyway, you don't have to 'out' yourselves but I would just encourage you, if that's what's stopping you signing up, to just take a small chance. I PROMISE that the issue will not be too small or big for us to learn something together.
