HeatherL - that could just be the little 'not much I know' bit that makes all the difference! Wasn't it you who put the Helen Keller quote on IHK's thread??? Motivated me, thank you.

Oh what a relief, I donated last evening and even today OH about it all and he couldn't believe that someone could do that and what a horrible cruel world it is for horses.
Excellent, does she have a home to come to?

Fantastic!!!!!!!!
It was so hard for me yesterday when I went to see about 'Lancia' because Cybelle was just soooo sweet. I was just praying that you guys would come up trumps as I just couldn't afford to get both of them but you have gone and done it. Personally I think you are all ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! Lucky Cybelle, however I am sure she will reward whoever has the wonderful opportunity of re-homing her.

The Just Giving special appeal stands at *Total donated online: £680.00 Amount raised offline: £0.00 Plus Justgiving has reclaimed Gift Aid of: £169.23 Donated into the general account is £180 The fund cannot be accessed until next week and the gift aid at the end of August. Chenellie (jane) is our fudnraising trustee and knows the ins and outs of Just Giving and will inform us in due course. However EMW Sanctuaries UK have been offered a kind option of loan of the fund required to enable Cybelle to live. Cybelle will, we hope, be moving out of the fattening farm next Monday although Lucy our brilliant translator and mediator is dealing with this for us due to launguage barrier. Lucy and JS - huge thanks for pulling the logisitic strings of this appeal together. Also to all who have donated to Cybelle and her future. Once she is safely in her new home - which will be announced on Monday - we intend to make it possible for visitors to see who they have saved from a terrible journey and death in an Italian abattoir. Can we just have a moment where we think of the 1000's that will take this terrible journey and will die in that place, some no older than 6months , some horses that have worked hard all their lives. A dreadful sadness that local abattoirs would stop happening. EMW Sanctuaries will be promoting the ILPH and it's campaign to re-introduce local slaughter houses thereby banning these journeys into hell - we hope Cybelle's rescue will raise awareness UK wide. EMW Sanctuaries UK thank you all from the bottom of our collective hearts. Once again you rise to the challenge. Can we keep this thread fairly clear now so we can pick up any messages regarding transportation and the legalities required to release Cybelle. emw x

Oh what great news, I'm so glad to have chipped in a little. I hope everything goes smoothly now with bringing her home.
gillmc, yes I did put the Helen Keller quote up on the thread, it strikes a cord with me too, and is particularly relevant in this case I think.
ETA: Oops sorry EMW just noticed your post regarding keeping this thread clear now!
