Karine has told me that if she is sure of everthing she can get him to hold them. BUT, having said that she had a yes and then a no so I don't know how confident she will be doing this. Are we SURE the funds are there? Re payment, I guess paypal should be quite fast, also bank transfer. I'm not sure how fast things can work but maybe paypal to one of us in France (the nearest to this place the best but I'm happy to do it though it would mean sending, add a day at least) and we can write a cheque for the guy?

I believe paying by credit card to Wofford International would be a good idea? Then they can pay the guy direct when they collect. I am hoping to take a pregnant mare and think I will do it this way. Some credit cards give you some protection against fraud etc

Yes, I see for the amount but probably haven't read all the parts of the right threads so don't know exactly how much is needed in total? 300 plus 650 is that it? and I guess EWM have to OK it before we confirm to Karine at Nouvelle Vie?
OK, so brilliant but MORE NEEDED - sorry for the 'shouting' but just in case people interested get the impression it's all sorted :-)

Just had a closer look at the JustGiving site - they take 5% + VAT commission on monies donated (including the gift aid). So this has to be taken into account when figuring out the total EMW have available to pay for Cybelle. They also deduct bank charges. They pay the amount leftover to the charity at the end of each week with the gift aid not being paid until the end of the month (they have to claim it from the taxman).

Gill. yes, that's right it, Just giving isn't instant money but we do also have a pledge to pay the mare and transport and then we refund after, when funds are clear BUT we must be able to clear the fund or we are in deep water. I reiterate EMW do not sit on a fat bank balance we have a small emergency fund fed by our monthly 100 club payments but that is it. We must hit the £1000 target or we are in trouble. emw

However I paid for the younger Percheron today and did a deal with the guy in fact I got a reduction of €187/£125.95 so perhaps there could be a bit of a deal done with him for Cybelle hopefully this would then allow for the 5%+vat. Just a thought!!!

so 14 days until gift aid can be released. this appeal is set up to run until Page closes: 13th Oct 2007 at the latest (coppied from just giving site) maybe this means it will 7 days after this that the funds raised can be released and be end of october before EMW can claim the gift aid. Elaine, channielle?

Thought I'd add another photo for a bit of motivation - I was checking her legs (she has very scabby legs under all that feather) and she just stood there like a lamb. Haven't asked permission of the humans in the photo but don't expect you'd recognise anyone from this!
