Davina, Maggie would have been so proud of you today.
Whatever you all think of it , this is the best POSSIBLE result for Davina and Maggie. The MAXIMUM sentence possible.
Davina, I truly hope you can put this behind you now. I know Maggie will forever remain in your heart. But I hope you can remember the happier times and find healing.

He got the maximum, well its not enough, but its some small consolation. I hope he meets some animal lovers in prison, and gets what he really deserves.
As for the father - well done Davina - you are amazing, because I would have disgraced myself, had he said that to me, and it would have achieved nothing.
As jc says it is the best possible outcome - although not as harsh as we would like, give the pathetic sentencing meted out these days. But I hope it can bring some kind of closure to this horrible time for you.
Rip beautiful Maggie. My love to you Davina.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This morning was the most harrowing experience I’ve ever had. Sitting through the details of what Maggie endured was horrific and something that will stay with me for the rest of my life! The Magistrates delivered the maximum sentences they could and in that respect justice was served. However, the punishment will never fit the crime in this case! If there had been any genuine remorse, I wouldn’t have typed the rest of this. Having been careful what I’ve said throughout, I need to spit vitriol, without having to be politically correct. It was gratifying to see, at least, Corfield taken away handcuffed to a guard but I really hope their lives are forever blighted by bad luck because that is the least they deserve. Whether to torture, maim and/or kill any living creature isn’t about whether someone is educated or not, it’s a basic characteristic of being human. My fingers are firmly crossed that there are animal lovers in the youth offenders institution and that a kangaroo court will mete out it’s own justice! If Corfield and Lister came from such, allegedly, good family backgrounds, raised by decent parents, then they are just plain evil. If not, there must be a genetic default and we should dispose of the parents along with them and eradicate the gene pool completely. I feel marginally better for having spewed that out, but I’ve yet to level out on tears, frustration and anger! I've severely watered down what I really need to say, as it was peppered with swear words. Tanky Tanky, you’re one in a million, you’ve never mentioned on here the effects on your own mare, who was in the next paddock. Your love and support for Davina is so obvious and your Mum’s little unintended contribution during the recess was just so apt! Davina, what a dignified lady you are and you have a lovely family and devoted friends around you, so I hope today has given you some closure. I know it will be dreadfully difficult for you to move on, but you have so many years of good memories with Maggie to treasure forever. I will certainly never forget her and I never even met her. I’ll be thinking of you and Maggie always but especially on 13th April. Take care Davina, Mick and Rebecca. Run free at Rainbow Bridge Maggie.

At least something was done to show everyone how wrong this was.
Thinking of you.

I am deeply sorry that the British legal system simply does not recognise the serious nature of cruelty to animals, especially deliberate cruelty - attacks made for the sake of attacking.
But I am glad that those found guilty have been given something of a punishment.
My dearest wish now is that Davina can find peace, and more forward with her life. I am sure, totally sure, that this would have been Maggie's wish for her. Horses are gentle and herd animals. I've never known one which did not seek health and peace and healing and I am SURE that this is what Maggie would wish now for her beloved owner.

The local news has just been on and BECAUSE of Maggies case and Davinas devotion to justice the BHS are now taking statistics of ALL horse attacks in the UK, NOW we may see the wider issue. The interview tonight really got to me, I am in tears, Davina you are a remarkable woman and I am truely honoured to know you and count you as a friend, even though we met in terrible circumstances. Lets see MAGGIES LAW XXX

I have just watched a moving and very detailed report on Midlands Today. I just have to say how brilliantly Davina composed herself throughout the interview. It must have been extremely difficult.

So glad that it is all over for you now Davina, you have shown remarkable courage and dignity throughout and whilst the sentence is paltry, although the best that could be hoped for, if the BHS are taking up the wider issue, so good may come out of evil, as is sadly, often the case.
Hugs,
Heather and all the team at EE xx

I'm glad to hear they got the maximum sentences that could be handed out by the magistrates. Of course, it will not be enough to pay for what they have done. I hope they do pay for their crime for the rest of their lives with misery and suffering.
Wishing you peace Davina. x x x
