I have just returned from court, where I had the great pleasure of watching Matthew Corfield being led away in handcuffs!
Matthew has been given 6 months, reduced to 5 for no previous of which he will do half and the rest on probation.
Lister has been given 200 hours unpaid community service, reduced to 180 hours and a little tiny fine.
Corfield showed no remorse as he was led away and simply shook his head. Corfields Dad who was sat in front of Davina, turned back and asked her "are you satisfied now" - to which Davina replied "yes thank you".
There was a fantastic turn out to support Davina and she did amazingly well.
ITV, Midlands Today and the Express and Star were present along with two other reporters (I'm not sure where they were from).
Nothing will every bring Maggie back but Davina has done everything in her power to get the maximum sentence for the scum that did this to her beloved mare. I am SO proud of her.
She is an amazing lady.
RIP Maggie.

I am totally full of admiration for Davina and all her supporters, what dignity under such duress.

Oh! wow! what a heavy sentence.........NOT! He should have got at least 2 years if that is the maximum he can get at a magistrates court. How dare his father even look at Davina, let alone speak to her! Sorry this has upset me even more, seeing their paltry sentences, will have to refrain from posting anymore as i dont want this thread deleted. Davina, nothing else to add except to say you have been in my thoughts all day. eileen xxx

Have just seen the news, well done Davina.
The sentance isn't long enough, but at least the guilty party will have a chance now to THINK and dwell on what he has done!!!!
Maggie was a beautiful mare and her memory will live on xxxxxxx
