I couldnt sleep without checking mine at least twice a day..you know what they're like for getting up to mischief! You can guarantee the one morning i'd try to have a lie in would be the morning he would do himself an injury.

If I wasn't somewhere where the yard checked them regularlyy through the day then I'd go down in the morning as well as the evenings - 24 hours could turn a small problem into a big one. I really can't understand DIY owners who don't check their horses at least daily, not doing so is potentially imposing on the kindness of other liveries.

Twice a day minimum. I've always felt that if you only check them once a day, 24 hours is a long time for them to be injured/ill without attention.

At least once a day, preferably twice. Although there are a couple of people at my yard who don't come up for weeks when they are out 24/7.
