Hiya
I have just received an email from client asking for some help with a greyhound she has rescued of the streets, this dog is like a skeleton, and its skin is red and raw from flea infestation, she is so weak she needs to be carried into the garden to go to the toilet.
I see so much of this now and amazed by how many requests for help I get from people who are out there helping these poor animals despite limited funds and time.
There is so so much cruelty and poverty around us and yet at Christmas we spend so so much money on luxuries. Of course we all like nice things and to give nice presents and Christmas is a time when we feel we are "allowed" to be a bit more extravagant, but seeing so many stories like this I can't help feeling that the money could be better spent...
SO perhaps if this year we could spend a little less on our luxuries and presents and perhaps really put just a little of that money to good use it would be fantastic, there are so many animals, people and children staving, being abused and neglected that we each could do something about it.
Just seeing what I have even this year has changed who I am and how I will live my life, so please when you are thinking about what to buy how about a gift to a charity - it doesn't even have to cost you much, a sack of feed, a sack of carrots, some old vet wraps in the stable you have never used or not buying that extra bottle of gin
It doesn't matter how much we give but if we can incorporate it into our lives and particularly at Christmas when there is so much emphasis on spending then the mass effort will be worth so much!
Please look on the appeal page, you may find some great presents as well as donating at the same time
Thanks to all those who have supported the appeal so generously and perhaps like Casper who so kindly donated a winning Bach flower consultation to a pony at the centre you might find something that will make a child's or horses Christmas a little easier ....
