I wouldn't like someone else looking after him but I would love to have all year 24/7 turnout and have a couple of others.

I would not want anyone to look after mine either. I don't understand why people have horses on full livery....fair enough if they work long hours though.
If I could, I would love a nice big field with shelters in all to myself!

I picked other because Id like to have more time to do them myself, Id also like to be able to spend all day faffing about with them at the yard. Onc my debts are all cleared id like to go to 4 days a week so I have more time with them

I would like to have the will power to stop collecting more! having them at home, with facilities and far too much land is not always good, there is always room for another one. :(Fortunately Will Power appear to be my husbands middle names! In defence of those with horses at full livery, I have worked at livery yards and private yards and these people work jolly hard to afford their horses and every single one of them appreciated their horses to the full, and had good relationships with them. I have horses here with me, on full outdoor board (I treat them as my own........for a price) and their owners may not care to, want to, or be able to do the nitty gritty of the daily stuff but they still love their horses. Each to their own, the horses don't seem to care who waits on them as long as food is served on time.

well if winning the lottery so I did not have to wrok at all is out ............. carry on the same ............ even if I had the money I would not have others do the "work" aspect . To me thats all part and parcel of the relationship. Maybe have big strong handsome young man to do the fencing though (not that I cant do it ...... theres just a lot of it needing re doing )

Appreciate what you say Lolamae re full livery and I am not questioning their love for the horse...but as Laura has said the *work* part is part and parcel of the relationship. I feel that you cannot *know* your horse 100% if you do not care for it full time. Bit like children that go to nursery at a very young age. Def off to find tin hat now!lol

I went for other as I would like more time with mine, I have to leave them out as much as possible due to lack of time/finances at the moment.

Urm, well it depends really. As it stands now, I could never allow someone to fully look after my horses, I've had it happen to me first hand when a helper is all they are cracked upto be. However, I guess if I got successful in anyway, weather it be dealing or riding myself, obviously that would change because that doesnt work singlehandedly.

I'd have more I doubt I'd get anybody who wanted to look after my two. I have enough difficulty trying to get someone to sling hay over the fence if I'm out for the afternoon!

I have to admit I do quite like it when I get to the yard and find everything done! I wouldn't pay for it since I don't mind doing the work myself but YO does become my new favorite person for a while when he decides to do mine along with the full liveries I don't mind letting someone borrow fatty to ride occasionally but I wouldn't pay someone else to since I like riding her myself and she's not one that needs working regularly. I wouldn't want more horses than I have now, I have 3 and that's too many really. Just about manageable but any more and I'd feel guilty that they weren't getting enough attention, and 3 is going to be a problem if I ever manage to have all of the in work at the same time. I'll have to get a sharer or loan one out or something then.
