The waiting list for courses. Just far too popular.
Not enough Kelly demos.
Freezing cold demos!
Very odd moments on the Dg sometimes (but the great camaraderie too)
Seriously, I am racking my brains.....

The only thing that can be bad about IH is when some people ( and unfortunately I believe there are some) become too" Holier than Thou" about it, and turn on others who may not have the same ideas ,without trying to to help those who don't understand, or don't have the necessary knowledge. To me, the most intelligent way to go in life in any field, is with an open mind.

Is that IH or the DG, SS3?
Following on from Sarah's point about it being hard to get on the course, I would add that it's a shame that Kelly's courses (as opposed to any the RAs run) are all in the south, which makes life very hard for anyone in the north. I also think we are still inadequate when it comes to helping kids, but we're working on that one!
I wonder if one area that IH could improve a little is in its marketing. I'm not suggesting an all out Parelli style with added hype website, but quite a few people I meet don't actually know what IH is. Some think it is just join up, some think it's all about keeping horses naturally. People like to know what something is and aren't often good at vague definitions.

Sorry, but to follow on from the "good things about parelli" thread, I don't necessarily think that IH is a good starting point for a lot of people starting out. I sometimes find the endless information very tiring and confusing and I don't know which of the many approaches is most likely to work which leaves me feeling like I have a mountain to climb. Having said that, I suppose that's what the RAs are for to narrow it down a bit for you and your horse. But not everyone can afford an RA or any help at all. I think in such circumstances it is easy for someone to get frustrated and begin to question NH overall. I've had this crisis as have other's I know. (TIN HAT)

Sorry I should have said that the reason that follows on from good things about parelli is that one person said on there parelli is a good introduction, and another said it was their introduction to NH and it lead them to IH, which is a good thing.

People like to know what something is and aren't often good at vague definitions. I'd be interested to hear the view on this. Having just found this board and having met some folks I'd be interested to hear what it is. I guess that's another thread though.

Well IH is just that, Intelligent Horsemanship, right? I think that sometimes, and only sometimes, people can go abit OTT on what is intelligent horsemanship and what is not. Sometimes I think people can be a bit funnel minded, but 99% of the time not so. Way I see it, happy, well cared for horse, and happy rider, is pretty much on the right lines.

One bad thing I found for me was the cost, I think I worked out for an initial session with my closest RA worked out at about £75 inc travel.
