i moved up here from Bucks about 4/5 months ago. It is quite a horsey area but as I am not riding my mare at the moment, I havent met many people to chat about horses, best rides around the area etc. Would love to here from anyone.
;D

Where have you moved to? I moved up to Cumbria from near Oakham about three or so years ago. I worked in Uppingham for about six years.

i have moved to what was the old Cottesmore Hunt yard. Has now been developed into housing with the 10 acre paddock. I have 1 house there and some land. My mare is in ashwell at the moment. It was quite a big change but one for the best as it is wonderful around here. But it is quite lonely as I am self employed and trying to build my business up which is hard.
My hubby works in peterborough with a load of horse mad women - he cant get away from them :0))

looks like Peterborough is very popular. Be funny if they worked in the same company. Ian works for Silver Spoon.
Newark isnt too far away. are there any tack shops/feed shops around there? If it just that I am self employed in the horsey world and looking for places to dump my leaflets :0) cheers

Hi laylaw,
I used to temp at SS - testing some new software for them! I live in the Deepings not far from Pboro and work in Stamford. My farrier lives in Rutland though so I get the gossip from him lol!
Perhaps we should organise a get together as there are a few of us from the area?

We live in Northants, so you are not that far away from us. Hope you are settling in well - Rutland is a beautiful area. Would love to meet up with yourself and other DG'ers if we can find a suitable location?
