I have used nupafeed on my welsh mare (now sold) it did work but it is expensive. I would be interested in the mag oxide theory, as nupafeed is a different element of magnesium (so it says in the suporting literature) also while on nupafeed, any other calmer that you use (eg valerian or acp) is more effective, I think its because adrenaline release is supressed by nupafeed, and it is adrenaline that stops other calmers from working. Thats why nupafeed is different from the others as it deals with the cause rather than the symptoms

I have used nupafeed with success, but its expensive as you say. Where do you get this mag oxide from? I would try it. As it is a salt, does it make them drink and wee a lot more? Wonder if it can do any harm if not licensed for horses?

Hi dona - you can get magnesium from jackie, who posted on the last page - a very knowledgeable person!
