I started with Horse Owners Exams I, II and III. I also have a BET CM (Bristish Equestrian Tourism Centre Manager Qualification) this is equivalent to BHSII, hence entry onto the BHS Register of Instructors.
I fully take on board your comments Hannah about learning the practicla side of things. When I had my own Centre I ran courses for people who had completed distant learnng courses to enable them to practice such things as bandaging, poulticing, clipping etc. Helping them to recognise lameness was a good one. It is difficult now though to organise such practical courses without my own Centre, so in the new year I will be looking for a venue!
