So epically like I've failed today!
Had to move Spring across a road onto another field, and I walked her right across the yard, between tractors and barns and everything, but I lost my confidence at the last minute and had the yard owner take her across the road...
I just don't know what's wrong with me!!
Am I a failure?? X

Aw big hugs- I always feel like that when I've treid to do something and its not gone the way i thought. Frist try looking at the positives- you walked her across the yard and that was a success. So just focus on that part. Then you can examine why and at what point you felt unsafe and makes some plans to take steps towards making that part feel safe too.

Thanks guys. I know deep down its my own confidence I need to work on more than Spring's, I just had a low night last night!
That's one if the main reasons I love her though, no matter how badly I think I've failed she just doesn't give up on me! Xx

We'll be fine, it's just time and patience needed! On the plus side, I've managed to get a brush all the way down Dan's front legs and one of his back legs xx

It happened again tonight - I wormed them both (they hated that) and put them into adjoining paddocks for a while, and both spring and dan were going wild with panic about being separated... I could not get anything done with either of them! Any hints, tips or words of comfort would be welcomed right now xx

If they can't cope with being separated even into adjoining paddocks, you'll need to break it down into even more tiny steps. When they're together, can you lead one of them up to the gate without them getting too stressed? When the one you're leading is calm, let them go. Then build up to leading just outside the gate, wait a minute or so and when they're calm, take them back inside again. Build up and up, doing it with each of them, until you can lead into another paddock, wait a while then put them back together. Gradually build up the time they are apart, so they don't reach the panic stage.
