The QuitKick squirts water vertically, so hits their chin. Its not very mucch water, I think its just the suprise of it which makes them stop. Most techniques e.g. waiting til theyve stopped then letting them oiut/giving them a reward require you to actually be there and within a reasonable distance of your horse. The QuitKick works 24/7, which means its a very consistent negative response.

I don't think anyone is really suggesting using 'devices' without any further consideration. As many have previoiusly said, this kind of behaviour is often learned and habitual and in those cases using something like the bead bracelet or air jet thing would leave the horse to teach itself.
Don't forget many people in this situation have their horses at livery and I'd suggest there are very few livery yards where the staff are willing to carry out the kind of training required to deal with this sort of problem.
If OP's horse is banging the door, and OP then gets up to see the horse, then I think this could well be a reward situation.

Working on a livery yard I agree it is not possible for staff to carry out this training. I start at 6.30am and feed 30 horses on my own. About 1/4 of those start kicking as soon as I walk onto the yard! With the owners house on site next to the stables I spend the next half hour begging them to PLEASE BE QUIET! Having one horse on DIY is much easier for training purposes but then invariably they will kick whilst you're not there or too far away to do anything about it! I had one that door kicked (he lived out 23/7 and only kicked when I was making his dinner) and the simplest thing was to just use a door chain. He still kicked to the side of the door sometimes but I think it also helps them to feel a bit less enclosed.
Good luck, its a very annoying habit!
