I'll send mine up to you then Jen! It's so quiet by me, especially at weekends or evenings so she just never gets the chance to meet lorries. As a consequence she is not bombproof - sensible but not overly keen on tractors and large vehicles. I would love to be able to stand her at the junction of an A road and let her watch thing whizz by.
Your horse sounds fab!

My first pony was scared of drains and man-hole covers. Doing my Riding and Road Safety test was interesting as he spooked all over the road!

Oh he is clever! ;D
And if being scared of drains is the worst he's going to do, well that's not so bad! ;D

hey. mine spooks at drain covers too (though he spooks at puddles and daffodils and grass...) but a thought on the drain covers - i have worked out that mine isn't scared of the cover so much as the water underneath them as he also spooks at pipes under the road especially when the water in them is going fast. If that is the case then you might be able to desensitise him by running water through things where he can't see and somehow get it under his feet?? just a thought.
Well done on the rest of the desensitising - if you want to have a go with mine?? lol i agree with auburnalia - if that's all that bothers him you can't have too much trouble. especially as you hear loads of horror stroies involving ponies going through the covers or slipping on them and breaking their legs so maybe him not wanting to go over them is just because he understands their danger?

Zarello is scared of nothing on the road, but not too sure about dangerous sparrows, crisp packets and will walk past a grate 99 times then decide on one occasion she does not like it, leap sideways, do a really good piaffe for a bit then carry on as normal. I think she sees dead people from time to time lol..

. I think she sees dead people from time to time lol..[/quote Not as silly as it sounds------------------I used to ride in a forest where a rider was killed and the horse was reputedly buried in an unmarked grave a long long time ago. I never knew a horse that didn't spook at the precise place the grave was said to be !!!
