This eve I was changing my warmbloods turnout rug and realised the rug he was wearning today is around 15 years old! Its an Eskadron rug (ludgar barebarm) I originally bought it for my 17.1hh ID x TB who I owned for 10 years and then i lent this rug to a friend for her 17 hh hanovarian cross for 2 years and then I got it back and have been using it for my warmblood for the last 3 years, it has no tears rips, leaks, stitching problems whatsoever and is still 100% waterproof, filling still fluffy and in place and it never rubs on any horse it has been used on! In fact it still looks as good as the day i bought it 15 yrs ago! Anyone else had a rug which has stood the test of time or more?! ;D

Yes, some of the Rambo Wugs I have are more than 10 years old and still going strong. I find it is worth spending money on rugs. All the cheap ones I have bought haven't lasted well or have leaked. The Derby House lightweight ones have been particularly hopeless!

Yes ive heard the rambo's are good June I have a weatherbeeta medium which Ive had for 2/3 years and its got so many tears around the sticking and its a bit tight on my chaps shoulders as well as not being long enough in the neck, after the winter it will be thrown out certainly not my best buy that one!

I have a couple of Fal rugs, had them years and they are still going strong. The cheaper rugs I've bought have only lasted a year or two.

Love my Premier Equine rug too, but had it cleaned and reproofed after last winter and this year it is leaking like a sieve! Jas has a new Fal rug and it is fab. I have a couple of ancient Rhino rugs which are still 100% waterproof after many years use.

My FAL winter rug has lasted 5 years and looks as good as new (after it's been washed at the end of winter!) The only problem I have just noticed is that the elasic on the attachable neck is beginning to age but the rug itself is brilliant - once you know your horse isn't a rug destroyer it really is worth buying a good quality one!

Flo is currently out in a Bucas Power Turnout which I originially bought for my old Arab. He wore it for one winter (daytime only) and now she's had it on on the coldest days we've had this winter (still only during daytime turnout). It cost about £150 - I like it for fit and it keeps her cosy but is fraying like mad on the back end! There's nothing for her to rub or catch it on but I don't know why the fabric seems weaker there. Bit gutted as it's not had anything like moderate use and seems on the way out already. Don't think I'd buy another one.

Love my Premier Equine rug too, but had it cleaned and reproofed after last winter and this year it is leaking like a sieve! . I always find they are never properly waterproof after being cleaned and reproofed professionally! Try painting it with tent reproofer, that's always restored our rugs back to waterproof again.

I'm a fan of premier equine and our tbx is still in perfect order but my fell who could put a rip in any rug within minutes has ripped his in three places. It's also rubbed his mane so I'm going to take the neck off.
They have lasted longer than any other rugs I've had though so would still by them. They fit very nicely in the body too.

I love the Premier Equine ones as well! Our big boy used to shred his rugs across the chest in a matter of days (even a fal pro!) but his winter buster rugs are three years old and still going strong ;D
His Premier Equine lightweight didn't do as well though, wish they did that in the same denier as the winter rugs!

I have an old rambo, it was second hand when it came to me, and is just fab.
My PE rug is lovely, although in its first winter, so hoping it will last
