Is there a map you can buy with bridleways marked on? Or a website like the ones for beaches that take dogs?
Im struggling to find where I can and cannot ride!

The OS show them on the Landranger (and larger scale) maps but they aren't guaranteed correct - your local County Council holds the definitive map which is a legal document and can be relied on. I always start with the OS and if there are any local people who dispute the right to ride on them, refer to the Council.

I'm with Jill on that You can get OS maps on line so you can take apeek before you buy - bing is the best bet for a good os map. the largest scale has bridleways marked as a green dash, a small green dash is a foot path. on a smaller scale the dashes become red.

Get a map and mark in blue the bridleways then mark in red the foot paths....remembering that ramblers can use bridleways but not Visa Versa........interesting! (Of coarse there is always the "right to roam" which is also barred to equine users) And if you drive your equine, don't bother getting another colour,it won't get used enough to justify the expence

There are no bridleways round us bertie - I can think of one within 20 miles of me, and that is the beach!

Yeah, it sucks. We are lucky that we can sneak up farm tracks for a hooly, but we know the farmers and they know we won't wreck their crops. We have one grass verge that is good for a canter most times of year, but it involves jumping ditches (great fun, I have discovered!)
