And on mine, but there's plenty of mileage in painting the sabs as black as possible for the pro hunting lobby.

i heard about this a few weeks ago and decided to start a thread and see whether any one else would first. In my opinion, which will be different from others, and i completely accept that as everyone else has their own views and rights, i wont be shopping at Lush. Even if it is the few that are tarring the rest of the non-violent people, i dont want to be involved in funding the violent few's 'campaign'
On another reason why i wont be shopping there, i bought some henna, colour etc recommended by member of staff, followed instructions to the dot, and my hair went carrot colour. Not happy! so im afraid i think i will part ways with Lush for a number of reasons.

Agree with Yann's comments. I would buy the soap as a fox lover To me this is no different from buying a newspaper that supports a particular political party. mta; hunting is a violent bloodsport, that should not be forgotton when the HSA is also being labelled violent. I agree 100% with Apachepony, and have found it is mainly the pro hunting lobby (who aren't violent to anti hunt people are, they, oh no..... ) who tar all hunt sabs with the same brush. The ones I've met/known have been peaceful people who would never harm an animal in their lives. I'm off to Lush in a couple of weeks to stock up and dare say I will be buying some of their bubble bars too.

I dont agree with any violence btw the humans either. How does this differ from The Body Shop supporting anti animal testing through out the 90s??

A comment from the Horse and Hound DG -
I have only recently found out about this and I am really disappointed. People don't all have to agree but to express their position on hunting by supporting an association such as the Hunt Sabs is very misplaced and the surely haven't done their research. Having been at the receiving end on a number of occasions of the Sabs attempts at protecting the fox including being pulled from my horse aged 12, witnessing a friends horse having it's front leg broken when a gate was slammed on it by sabs and being in the field on that fateful day when a hound had acid thrown at it, I cannot bring myself to shop in Lush until they openly stop their support of this association which attracts some of the worst members of society to its' cause.
I don't think anyone particularly would mind that Lush is anti-hunting, it is their support of this particular association which is upsetting everyone.

Not getting into a pro/anti debate except to say I did have one friend (sadly killed out hunting 4 years ago) who was witness to a horrific attack by antis in Dorset in the 1990s. 26 or so were arrested and my friend had to go to court as a witness. It transpired that the antis were students from a west country uni, were paid £25 a day plus lunch. The sabs were heavily armed, peppered the hounds and struck horses and riders with chains and metal bars. I do not recall who was behind this awful attack - I doubt it was the HSA but a much more militant underground group. Evil people.
Personally, I think Lush stuff is awful - I always feel quite sick even just passing their shop!

But Yann, you miss the point that Lush have chosen not just to support anti-hunting in general, but specifically one group, and a group which attracts more than a little controversy about some of its members and some of its methods. If they really are the responsible retailer they'd like us to think they are, wouldn't you expect them to clarify their stance?

That is the part that I have reservations about. I can appreciate Lush not supporting hunting, no problem with that, but why support a particular group in this way?

Given that bloodthirsty foxhunting is against the law, if the government and police got their finger out the wildlife of this country would not require protection from volunteer groups such as the HSA. Good on Lush for taking a risk, this will only serve to highlight the plight of the foxes. Its no coincidence this has come up as the film is released, lets hope it can teach a new generation of children that wildlife is to be protected, not persecuted.
And more is the question, why has the Telegraph taken a pro hunt stance, an illegal activity?

Apachepony, the Hunting Act made it illegal to hunt in certain ways. Hunts are perfectly free to continue to operate within the law. It is not illegal to kill a fox. The government has outlawed certain methods, that's all.

What they should be putting their energy and their money into is helping the neglected, abused and needy children of this country. Instead of supporting some political group. Do some good for the children of our country for a change. So much aid is sent abroad to look after others look closer to home and lets help this country instead of rescuing pigs. Sorry off the topic I know but it winds me up.
