Clarification, as requested by a bright spark:
The ditch/water is to be crossed - the idea being to show that your horse will cross something either dark or wet
The plastic bags - ordinary supermarket ones - can be either tied to upright poles or could also be weighted by stones. Minimum number is probably 3, but you could do more. If you do it on a windy day with the bags rustling, so much the better!
L for leather (I know, I should have explained!) is an exercise from Kelly's book Perfect Manners, whereby you ask your horse to back up through an L shaped arrangement of poles on the ground, 2 pairs of parallel poles at a right angle. In other words, you're backing your horse round a corner.
If you haven't got a video recorder, a lot of cameras or phones have recording options.

Think outside the box, Shelley! Be creative. Bunting could be tied to anything - a tree, a building - with maybe someone holding the other end... I've done it with a pole well tied to fencing at one end to give the height, and with someone else holding the other end. We shall look forward to Bailey's entry...

Hi westernlucy,
Payment is by Paypal if possible. Do you have a Paypal account already? If so, log in and make your payment to ihcharity@yahoo.co.uk, making sure you show your DG name and the class(es) you're entering. If you haven't got a Paypal account, send me a PM.
To post your video, you'll need to upload it to something like Photobucket or Youtube, then copy the link to this thread.
Does that all make sense?

Its not perfect, but at least the money is going to a good cause. Entry, includes tarpaulin, tarpaulin as flags, and I kind of stretch this bit, but the loud noise is the traffic in the background. This is old but its how we prepared/trained our pony to go into a trailer.

Some people are struggling with a couple of the obstacles, so here's a little help.
The ditch/trough/dark thingy is aimed at testing the horse's willingness to go over something dark (often scary). Anything that tests that is ok. One idea, for example, is to make a ditch by taking a couple of poles and a role of bin bags in between, so you have the dark effect. If you wet the bags, you'll have even more off a ditch/puddle effect. Another idea is to flitch some unsuspecting child's paddling pool, but that might make you less than popular with the child (or its parents).
For the hanging obstacle, there are various ways of setting this up, depending on your yard/field, etc. You can tie one end to a tree and get another person to hold the other end. If you have a fence, tie a pole to a post of the fence, or maybe to a jump wing. Some of the bamboo poles sold in garden centres are very long and could well be tall enough, depending on the size of your horse.
Think outside the box, there are all sorts of things you can do.
