at the risk of being labled another "bright spark" or even summat else lorraine ... I am sure I read you say somewhere that one could practice till we got it perfect the video it . Now given that the title is spook busting and the whole point is to demonstrate the trust the equine has in t' human when it meets summat scary ........ how can spook busting be demonstrated if horse already perfectly happy with all thats being filmed and nothing there is scary to that horse??? Ok it proves that things it probably has been in the past are ok now ... but it might be someone else that got horse to that stage ?? .... and anyone can see from pic on left that Taz loves water so including that in the course should be NO challenge at all Suggestion .......... a rule that something is included in the course that horse is only meeting for the first time or has been introduced in the preceeding week Yes I know I am pedantic and look to semantics a lot , but hey I like to promote discussion and fairness ... as well to look at how everyone does deal with scary stuff ;D ;D ;D

Laura, are you really asking at this point in time that we change the rules?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WAY!
I see what you're saying but the objective is more to have spook busted horses, than see someone in the process of. I know some horses are easier than others, but it's never going to be a completely level playing field with any competition, is it? And with the variety of spooks we've tried to include, I hope most people (if anyone else enters....) will have had to practice at least something. And if not, you're very lucky!

no Liz . realise too late now as you have entries etc ..... I should really have made the point earlier to be taken seriously oh LIZ .. ... you have just touched a raw point for me though naughty person ........ go to the naughty tree / corner or whatever this minute ( avoiding all ferrets on the way of course as you can have no company to bemoan to ! ..... fancy saying it LUCKY if we have nothing much to practice from the list ..... you should know better than most it is never LUCK (well maybe a bit of good temperamant from the horse helps ) to have a horse used to these things ....... its HARD WORK. Its luck if you inherit a horse someone else has put the hard work into Sorry ..... just that I have heard that I am lucky to have a quiet ( well most of the time horse soooooo many times from people I have met who did not know Taz in the past ! ooooooooooh just re read and it might be you meant lucky that all the chosen objects are ones she is ok with and thats the luck element quick , come back liz ( sorry put lorraine on earlier post so I will go up the tree for not paying attention ) I was going to just scrub what I had written first .... but then thought , no leave it as a demonstration that even people who try to read stuff carefully might get it wrong and have to alter their reaction ... or grovel as the case may be !!!! or I might be right ;D x Laura there goes any chance rosette for us PS edited to add, I just thought about my post above and they way I put it it might have appeared I was "showing off" that nothing on the list bothered Taz ....... it wasn't actually what I meant. I suppose what I meant was that it might be a bit unfair in a way I suppose to try and judge a younger inexpereinced horse just being introduced to these things against more expereinced horses that would not give the handler much to demonstrate in the way of dealing with scardy stuff...... och maybe I better just stop wittering ;D

Theres not really much to worry about in the judging one against the other front since only one has entered anyway!

ohhhhhhh dear ................ wonder why ...... its a topic we talk a fair bit about on here. wonder if its a "fear" that there might be criticism on handling issues ..... bit like sometimes on th eriding photos ec ? It did enter my head I must admit, but then I thought, well s** it. At least one choose whats put on show and edit out the bits you dont want folk to see..... not like when things go oops a daisy at a show or summat in full view of everyone ... thas happened to me and I lived thought it

I know what you're saying, Laura, but pretty please, could you maybe start a thread on the general board about it? Partly because I think it's actually a good thing to discuss, but also because I'd quite like to keep this thread for any entries we may get...

ok now that I have had great fun trying to get one continuous run and failing despite many tries when camera person available we managed with only one join. ;D My mobile phone ringing was NOT planned and I promise I DID make many efforts to keep smallish people out of view .... but what the heck they are round about most the time anyway ! It it def very enlightening watching a video of oneself, never done it so intensively before with groundwork and it certainly gave me a few things to think about ... which I won't comment on in case no one notices ;D ;D ;D Modified as the clips had not played out as I thought they had.............. There are two clips.... both contain required elements and if I alter it again to make it better time wise it will look like I editied in the best bits from loads takes, So Sorry judges its two clips and a little over the time but please pretty please look at them as the filming / editing was FAAAAAAR more stressful than the doing of the course s17.photobucket.com/albums/b89/tazzle22/?action=view¤t=IHdespook2.flvpart two s17.photobucket.com/albums/b89/tazzle22/?action=view¤t=ihdespook4.flv

ok here goes its not perfect but i am however very pleased with my boy considering what he has been through. there is a separate link for the sudden noise but in total the whole footage is less than 5 mins and has not been edited,as you will see from the first attempt at the 'L' <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i271.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid271.photobucket.com/albums/jj148/shelley-bailey/100_0268.flv"> <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i271.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid271.photobucket.com/albums/jj148/shelley-bailey/100_0269.flv">
