Mum was alos compiling a list of places where people could stop over for the night/park a lorry up or simply somewhere to go in case of emergency along with a list of farriers and vets along the route.................... never know when and where you might need them!
Also get a list of how many riders have basic or more advanced first aid training (just in case) and could there be back up crews in cars carrying things that might be needed en route!

I'm not sure how far I'll be able to ride in May, as I will have given birth in April, but I will manage 10 miles or so (all being well) and can definately help organise. I'm in North Devon x

there is the Currie Marches on the proposed weekend...
If a member of my yard were to take part in both, would it be accepted that she get sponsor-ship to ride the Marches, and the miles (approx 10) be counted towards the RRB??

LAURA
I posted this on Facebook.....
Arlene, I am from the IHDG site (intelliegent Horsemanship Discussion Group) and we have an IH group on Facebook, we use the Monty roberts way to care for our horses, that uses no violence and try to work with the horse in it's own language... Next year we hope to do a massive Ride Round Britian (RRB) for designated charities and I will be organising the Edinburgh leg...... Could/Would you like to be involved, the more publicity the better, would love to have it announced on Forth1.... perhaps you could learn to ride and come with us??
Arlene Stuart is the new OH of Boogie, Boogie in the morning on Forth1 Radio broadcasting from Edinburgh..... what you reckon??

And a reply.....
"Hi Julie, Thanks for the invite to get involved in the charity ride. Not sure about my work commitments next year but get in touch with the details when you have them sorted. Incidentally, I can ride. Cheers, Arlene"

well Julz you are certainly starting out with determination I do hope that this WILL end up being a massive ride ..... .. all that support for the charities would be wonderful. Ok folks ... back from hols now from sunny devon so down to business The Ride Round Britain section is up and running , the areas are about 2/3 put on ...... list of area organisers is getting fuller ( 24 areas now have one or more oranisers ..... but MORE needed !!!) I am compiling a spreadsheet with all the areas on but I am a bit rusty at doing them so please bear with me as I also need to get an eamil list going then print it all out just in case lightening strikes me computer wise for the third time and I ever lose everything or dont have a computer to work from There is now a thread with suggested formats and info on .......... more will be added as questions arise and anyone interested in participation please now refer to that section yeeee haaa ;D
