Oh carol, poor you! I would be invading someone else's nice warm house if I were you!
Glad it's not just me who likes the weather. The only thing I need is some good socks to keep the cold out, my toes are getting cold, but other than that I can layer up pretty well. I don't mind looking like a Michelin man!

I prefer this weather as well. I love the mornings and everything is covered in frost, like off a christmas card. And besides, its much easier to keep warm with lots of layers than stay cool I think!! I hate it when its sweltering and humid!!

Yep, cold and clear and sunny, FAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want 4 months of this, then 4 months of real sunshine, then I'll be able to deal with 2 months of grey, rain, wind, muddy miserable weather.
Sunshine (no matter what the temp) always lifts the spirits, don't you think?

Not when you only see the sunshine out of the office window Kathy. It's dark at 6 when we go down to the girls to turn them out in a horrid frozen rutted paddock with no grass & dark again when we go to get them back in by which time the taps have frozen. Can't wait for it to warm up

I do, its the only time during winter that my horse stays clean!! ;D Being grey that doesn't happen often!! Although he still managed to find some mud but it brushes straight off again!

Absolutely love it for the animals!! No mud is the main advantage!
Apart from that we have 16 in overnight and 10 that are out all the time, including three donkeys and three ponies unrugged.
The down side is that we have had no water for the barns for 10 days and no water in the house for 6!!
Fortunately there is a culvert still just about running, if that freezes we will have to resort to the river!
Overall I would keep this weather all winter as long as I can get the borehole and mains water going again!!

I love the cold winter , however i am not enjoying the fact my field trough has been frozen for almost a week which means I have to fill up barrells and drive up in the range rover - it is really hurting my back. IM hoping this kills most of the bugs and id rather this than rain!

Love it now it has dried up I am a coward and hate driving on icy roads but now they are dry it is lovely Spent a great afternoon moving the fence as the Darties field had turned into an ice rink but it was lovely out in the sun. Yesterdays rain sleet and then freezing was awful but everything is now mosty dry it is fine

My toes do normally freeze in this weather, but since I got my new Muck Boots, they are fantastically warm, (till I take them off and put them back on again, then they can feel a bit damp, esp if I've not changed my socks at lunchtimes ??) But if I am out ALL day, my feet are toasty warm.

LOL @ Carol, we haven't had heating for 2 winters! I'm getting used to it again I am a bit fed up with it now, I had to lug 3 water containers last night as the trough and taps were frozen solid and I've hurt my back carrying another 3 today Luckily my horses have a water trough and huge plastic barrel for water, and now have another plastic tub as well so I know they won't run out of water. The horses next door haven't even had the ice broken on their trough for a few days and there's nothing but thick ice in it now.

I am really enjoying this weather. Main problem is frozen water but I am coping with lots of containers and it usually thaws out at least for a short while each day so I can get rid of the ice. I haven't been able to ride out but my school is fine. I have some cycling thermals from Lidyls which are great, also Sealskinz gloves and waterproof thermal socks. So what with those and a log burner indoors I am lovely and warm! It is quite nice to be unable to ride much or tidy the garden so no pressure! No guilt about hibernating in front of the fire!
