Rio cost us £1800, the vet's opinion at the vetting was that I was paying over the odds To be fair she was drastically overweight and unfit, but she had a personality to die for and I hoped I could see what she could become, happily I have been proved right over and over again After she'd been with us six months And this summer Tessie cost me £2500 and has also been worth every penny. She was actually supposed to be for my daughter, but I've ended up as her main rider, she's an amazing ride and an absolute hacking machine

I paid £750 for Boo as a three year old failed racehorse that had been dumped in a field for a year. he is now rising 8, is safe as houses to hack out, gets placed in affiliated dressage every time out, clear show jumping (even with my riding! lol!) and is off eventing next year..... I was offered £7k from someone at my yard last week for him as he wanted to buy him for his daughter. don't tell my OH but I said no!!!

I paid £1500 for Davie this year - YO was going to pack him off to market, said he had the makings of a nice pony but she just didn't have the time to let him develop. She saw me coming ! Told OH he was £900 and parents he was £600 ;D . However, he deserved a chance and I'd fallen for his character. From what I see horses on the yard changing hands for I reckon he'll be worth a good bit more by end next year....but to me he is priceless and irreplaceable and will have a home with me come hell or high water. He is becoming everything I wanted...and more. Davie summer 06 Davie autumn 07

Blimey, by the sounds of it, I paid loads! Marigold cost me £2k, which for a fat, unfit, 7 year old PBA who had stood in a field for a year doing nothing sounds like a lot. But she was my first horse, and I paid for her temperament which is just amazing. I've had the old girl for over 4 years now and has just been totally awesome so I don't begrudge a penny.

Absolutely nothing. Was lucky enough to be given him. He was a Racehorse then went to Hartsop to be used in IH courses and then came to me. My other horse is an ex polo pony (born and bred in Argentina.) Cost me £850 as a 17 year old. Best £850 I ever spent. He is literally bombproof - unless he sees ornamental stones (LOL).
