What, you mean I have at least another 16 years of this to look forward too--and since the little bugggers usually live to at least 100, probably rather more than that? Argh!!!! Actually, she's been really good this week. Her sum total of H-behaviour has been: threw a couple of rugs on the floor, attempted to overturn the cement mixer belonging to the builders next door, attempted to climb the fence to play with the digger belonging with said builders (you should have seen her face when it came trundling down the drive--she thought it was Christmas!), she's bitten Rohan's foot (once), came haring at me with ears back then thought better of it and sneaked off. So a pretty uneventful week really. She came to the Ben Hart clinic with JJ last weekend and I think she's still worn out from the excitement of travelling and spending the weekend away--she's spent most of the week curled up into a ball snoring, then she wakes up for a bit, has a drink, stuffs her face, and goes back to sleep. Mind you, I felt much the same way--I don't think I've recovered yet either!

Yep, Briar's mum is now 38 and still going strong. Briar's got COPD, lami (nearly better) and sweet itch (mild, just started today) which has slightly trimmed her sails so this week she only - caused stallion to break fence by flirting with him, cannoned into full round bale of straw so it collapsed onto my husband (think I told you about that one), chased dogs, chased *rabbits* (mind you, so did Jet and Uranio ), managed to make 4'6" (i.e. MUCH bigger than her) stable door sag on hinges, invaded Jet's stable and bucked straw in my face when I tried to chase her out, in addition to climbing into portacabin and trying to hide from my husband (it's the feed room/tack room/junk room) and general flinging of objects around yard. When she's feeling well she climbs gates like ladders, plays tunes on anything metal and chases the other horses. She also rears if you tell her off, but I just ignore it.

PS I loved her from the first moment I saw her as a few week old foal and I love her to this day - and I think if horses love, she loves me. This picture is of her when she was about 18 months old chasing our first black lab, Bryony, barely more than a pup herself then. We lost Bryony about 18 months ago, she was 13.

I thought black labs were fair game for horses? Ash, my oldest, hates them and will go after them with teeth and hooves flying. Only black ones, any other colours are safe!
