OK, I suppose it does sound a bit bizarre (although probably no more bizarre than usual) ;D
This morning we had a ferretty polecat type of furry creature in the feedroom. It was asleep in the hay and of course JJ and H stuck their noses in and woke it up. I thought it was a rat at first (I could only see its nose) but no, it was a ferret--or something ferretty or polecatty, anyhow. A very sleek, pretty, cream little chap who was very tame and friendly and came scampering round my legs. I didn't know whether he was wild (and very bold!) or an escapee, so I sent Rohan off to get my spare parrot cage to catch him, because there was a pretty good chance that he was going to bite somebody's inquisitive nose or (probably more likely) get chased and stamped on
Unfortunately Mr Weasely Ferret sloped off outside up the bank (and was mobbed by jackdaws), and though he popped up later in the feedstore, he seemed OK so I left him alone.
Unfortunately I also left the parrot cage round the corner of the stable in the yard. In theory the horses can't get in there....except H can, AND SHE SNEAKED IN AND STAMPED ON THE CAGE. She probably liked the noise ('Ah, I thought I heard some strange crashing and crunching earlier,' said Rohan, 'that must have been it!') The plastic base is in about 1000 pieces, the brass top is bent beyond belief, and when we discovered it she came scampering over looking really pleased with herself AND OFFERED TO STAMP ON IT AGAIN, just in case it hadn't got the message the first time I suppose.
Grrrr! I suppose I should be grateful that she didn't get herself tangled up in it (and I should remember to put things away!) but....Argh.
Are Welshies usually prone to this sort of cheerful vandalism, or is it just her?
