Finn you may as well stop pretending to find Mr Weasely a new home. We all know as well as you that he is there to stay!

my cob tried to trash my cat cage,it had a poorly chicken in it to. he broke into stable and turned it over poor chicken. dont worry she survived. my boy had obviously got it in for her because he stepped on her and that is why she was in the cage. That's the sort of thing mine would do Karon--I remember Cascading Suicide Chickens from when we were at my friend's yard. The chickens there used to roost on top of the feedroom and because I was a total soft touch and used to smuggle food out to them, they used to wait up there til I arrived in the mornings. Then, they jumped Generally I managed to dodge the first one as it plummetted, but there were another five and most mornings I got smacked around the head by a couple of beefy birds. I think I'm going to have to keep mine in a run, partly because I don't like chickens dropping on my head, but also because if they're allowed to roam too far the horses will probably get them (or the A55!) Meanwhile......as you lot have been trying to lead me into temptation about Mr Weasely Ferret........I spent most of the afternoon at work looking up ferrets and wondering whether to keep him or not, and finally decided that he probably wouldn't fit in here. I've got too many birds (which he'd eat), nowhere for a nice outside run to play in, and the house itself just isn't small animal friendly. So I phoned around and found an animal sanctuary just outside Chester that agreed to have him. I felt like a bit of a louse when I dropped him off, particularly since he's still so exhausted and weak from his adventures that he can barely keep his eyes open. The lady at the sanctuary said that he's probably only about 12 weeks old. I did wonder if he was going to make it, but she took me to see a little hutch, and tapped on the bars, and suddenly out of the sleeping area there flowed this little river of baby ferrets--8 weeks olds and very pingy and ferrety. They were left outside the sanctuary in a box last week Mr Weasely Ferret caught a sniff of them and his little face lit up, and he sat up looking all perky and hopeful, which I think is a good sign ;D So at any rate I think he'll be happier there with other ferrets than he would be with us. So, a happy ending ;D ;D ;D

Ahhhhh, that is so sweet I adore ferrets, if I was closer to you I'd have been over there and taken him off your hands! I'd love to see a pile of baby ferrets, but wouldn't fancy having them all loose in the house at once Anyone who has tried to catch 3 or 4 loose ferrets will understand why!!

Argh!!!! If I'd have known that I could have bought him over. Well, OH could--can't imagine how Mr Weasely would have liked the back of a motorbike We had to drive for an hour and a half to drop him off anyway. although his little face when he saw all the other ferrets made it worthwhile ;D I've never had to catch loose ferrets....but I did have to catch escaped adolescent hamsters. They were a pain--literally--because they seem to go through a couple of days of being really stroppy and vicious, which is when they usually escaped. Easiest way to catch themw was to wiggle your fingers invitingly and they'd come hurtling out of hiding and pounce. Ouch. I gave them balls of rubber bands to beat up in the end But my fingers still hurt when I think about it.....

Ouch, hamsters hurt more than ferrets when they bite Mind you I did nearly get my eyebrow pierced by a ferret when I worked at the last pub - ferret was so pleased to see me that when I picked him up he latched onto my eyebrow! He was adorable though Mr Weasley would have loved a trip on a mtorbike, but getting a helmet to fit him might have been a problem

Ouch! My old vet loathed hamsters--he had his worst bite ever from one. He wasn't too keen on budgies either after one of mine took a chunk out of his wrist I have visions now of a chapter of Biker Ferrets roaring around the countryside

This thread has had me in stitches! What a monkey H is!
Glad to hear Mr Weasely has found a good home and he is ok. Am sure he'll be very happy with all the other ferrets to play with

Lol! I think Mr Weasely had a lucky escape then--or maybe he'd have preferred terrorising the country on a bike to doing baby ferretty things with a gang of mates. ;D Actually, if he HAD stayed with us....blimey, can you imagine what sort of a little horror he'd have grown up into 8) ;D

Argh, if I had the imagination to make it up, I'd probably be on the top of the bestseller lists I think. Having said that, I do have quite a fun time being me

And, to answer your first question, says she who also missed this thread first time round, Yes, in my experience, wanton vandalism performed with pride and repetition is definitely an 'A' thing. At least in her twin's case..... and her twin is knocking on 16!
