When I got Meg out to load her etc, her knee had gone down again, so I almost cancelled her x rays.
However better safe than sorry etc, and it was all booked, so we loaded and headed off. She was very skitty to load. Shes been fab on box rest, so easy to do, no fuss at all. However it obviously has affected her as she was a right skit bag lol when she saw the trailer! Took about 5 / 10 mins to load. It was as if she just wasnt concentrating on the trailer at all - she suddenly twigged thats what the strange human on the end of the leadrope was on about - and loaded herself. I wasnt ready so ended up letting go of the leadrope, whooops! However I shot up the other side of the trailer and Meg was happy on there and hadnt decided to back herself out. I fed Meg some ponynuts and Dad put the ramp up.
She travelled very quietly. its only about 17 miles but takes 45 mins in the trailer cause about 80% of it is windy lanes. At the other end I think she was looking for the showjumps! Head up, spinning round, looking very excited. and then I put her in the stable and she was like...oh. fine then. And started to eat hay. At the vets stables she has no view out of them at all, all they can see is 4 walls, but Meg wasnt in the least bothered, she settled straight away. We went home and came back later to get her.
She had rolled when I went to pick her up and was perfectly content in her stable. Ignored me when I opened the door!
and now the bit you are all waiting for....shes FINE. No probs! She can be turned out and started back in work! woohoo.
Now a question. She was on box rest for a grand total of 1 week and 3 days. Before this she was fully hunting fit - a lean mean jumping machine
How much time / work / type of work before she is back up to full fitness?
love from a happy Emily
ps Meg was very glad to get out in the field - had a hoon about
