Looking through the eyes of your horse / s, how would they find fault in you as an owner ?
Come on, be honest now .....

My boys would see me as "Ruby" in upstairs, downstairs. A total wimp who runs around after their every needs - whereas they might prefer to have " Ruby " mixed together with a "Pippa Funnell " so that they could have a few hair raising ( gun-ho ) experiences as well as the ' servant life style '

Doesn't feed them often enough! Spends way too much time farting about with their feet too...

Same here Annalee, I dont spend enough time with mine. It feels like I throw them out in a morning and drag them back in at night, change rugs put feeds in and then dash off home to do tea! Must make that my new year res, to make more time for my two !

My horses think I don’t feed them enough. In fact I know they think they are not getting fed enough. If I left the feed bin lid up I know I would be trampled in the stampede.

oh dear where do I begin?! Erm...I don't let them gallop everywhere I tend to take forever to get things sorted I don't do enough with them I don't ride them both first (Sonky gives me evils if I ride jack first and jack gices me evils if I rode sonky first ) I make sonky walk through puddles / lakes / mud (i make jack too, but he likes it hehe!) I LOOK AT OTHER HORSES HOW DARE I! God forbid..I actually sometimes give another horse a treat the list goes on....

I'll put a different twist on this one - what IS the perfect owner as far as our horses are concerned? One who leaves them out with their pals, whatever the weather, or who brings them in to an artificial environment every night? One who lets them chill ALL the time or one who asks for a bit more exciting activity? One who feeds them until they are fat and unhealthy or one who regulates what they eat in their own best interests? Caspar is happy enough I reckon with one who has his long term health at heart and who listens to what he has to say - may not be able to action it all, but at least I allow him his opinion. And that's it really, everything else is just window dressing.
