I don't know Napster,I'm having exactly the same problem myself. Sorry to hear the headache's no better.Have you come up with anything for your OH's birthday yet?
Jude I was pretty depressed to hear about the Bee Eater's, what an awful waste! I havn't noticed our little Redpolls for a day or two, maybe they have gone to pastures new. There was a raft of between 30 and 40 eider ducks bobbing about on the sea yesterday. They were there all day,and so close together that they were impossible to count accurately. As night fell they came nearer andf nearer to shore, and spent the night on our slip way the other side of the garden gate.OH had to remember not to take the dogs to the shore for their supper time walk. .
How many mincers is that now Aberlemno? You must have quite a collection. I wish I had kept the family one. They are grand things.
Jenna, I am so sorry to hear about your friends son. That really isn't the sort of news one wants to receive. Our neighbour had a dreadful fall from the loft on Saturday. It looked very bad,in the worst possible way to start with, but hopefully there isn't too much lasting damage done.
Hi Laura, how are the fingers? Horrid things thistles, and, they spread so quickly as well if not dealt with.Glad you liked the photo.Hoy's a bonny place.
Hi Wills, thnk you for your comment too.
Jude, thank you for the Gatcombe report. It was almost like being there.Sorry you missed out on the wine tasting.Bit mean that there was none on offer,it's something I look forward to as well.
Rosemary, glad you have had a good day and are carrying on the celebration;make it a good one now,it has to last a year!
Lynn,is it possible to see Ambro outside please? Which shows are you intending to take him to? I shall follow his progress with interest. Glad you are continuing with the wedding plans. What about the castle up in Dollar Glen, that would be a beautiful place to get wed? Just a notion!

Shep - do you have other pups that will soon need good homes? My dear friend Jane in Leeds ( we were best mates in the early days of being Mums with new babies way back in the 80s) lost her beloved old Border Collie on Saturday. I had a letter today and she and OH are quite bereft. Happy dog ( our elder BC is named after him) was fourteen and had had a wonderful life with them , walking and running the Pennines for years and being a great friend to everyone. I feel sure they will want another BC once the shock has lessened. Their daughter is at Uni in Aberdeen so they make regular trips north of the border.
Jenna - my thoughts are with your friend and her son. Thankfully there IS a good prognosis for nearly everyone who gets Hodgkins Lymphoma these days. He may have a rough road to travel for a while but he will get to a good place again.
Jennie - have you made any sausages yet with your family of mincers?!
Napster - have you tried the prescrition migraine medicine "Migraleve"? I used to have the most awful migraines with sickness, the lot, and would be out of action for often two days at a time. This new pill has just transformed my migraines. At the start of one I take a tablet and in an hour or so the headache may have gone completely or just become a mild enough one that you can carry on with. I hope you fel better tomorrow. I know how they can leave you feeling as if you have been kicked in the head by a horse .
Younger son and I have just returned from a lovely dog walk on the marshes in Christchurch Harbour. A beautiful warm evening with the music of bell ringing practise from the Priory Church floating over the water. A wispy pink sunset and flocks of gulls feeding on the low water sandbanks in the harbour channel. The New Forest ponies who graze on the marsh are so well and fat this year. Huge fat foals too! They will make tall , chunky riding ponies for someone.
