I just felt compelled to post again after KAS's post. I lost my mum aged 3, she was only 27 when she died suddenly and unexpectedly. To Nikki's children, you will come to terms with your loss in time, grief is hard and you will go through range of emotions, but you will come out of it with memories of your wonderful mum and feel thankful to have had her, even for a comparatively short time. Cherish your memories of her - that's one thing I don't have, as I was too young when my mum died, but you have wonderful years with your mum to remember and look back on with fond memories. Perhaps when you feel ready you could write a book of memories of her, fun times, sad times, times you want to remember in years to come and tell your children about. If you write them down they will be there forever and you can always look back on them.
Hugs to you all xxxx

I remember Nikki from way back. What a complete shock, I can only imagein what her family are going through At least she had no pain. Sadly I left this forum early this year after about four years of great fun due to the hideousness of a few members and am only back to post this one message. So I have missed several months of her warmth and wisdom... so sad... xxx

I'm always moved by the obvious love here on the DG and hope that the emotion on this thread will bring some comfort to her family knowing she was well loved.
I remember her love and support when I was facing sad times and the joy when speedy was added to the fold.
Thank goodness for you all.

Thank you for posting that KAS, it really did create a lovely image of Nikki in the Tuscan landscape.
Just read the whole thread and everyone has so many nice memories of Nikki, and it just shows how much she touched all of our lives.

I’m so terribly sad for you and your family Justin. Nikki was absolutely full of vitality and it is so cruel for you to have had her taken away so suddenly.
She will be very much missed on the DG. Perhaps, one day when you feel ready, you could come back here and read her posts. You will see just how much she meant to us all with her ability to make us laugh and cry.
God bless Nikki, rest in peace babe and thank you for sharing your life and wonderful stories with us. You will always be remembered with much love xxx

totally shocked, I can't add anything that hasn't already been said but I'm sat with tears streaming for someone I never met, which I think sums up the part Nikki has played in many of the DG regular's lives, even from a distance. Rest in peace, you will be very very sadly missed x

So so sorry, there's no words really. Massive condolences to you and your daughter and all of Nikki's family, how awful to lose her so suddenly. I haven't been on this forum for quite some time, what a shame to 'come back' to such horrible news I remember Nikki always had lots of useful and sensible advice to give, such lovely posts always.

I cannot add anything other than my thoughts, love and condolences at this very sad news. It's shocking and just so so sad.
It's always the good people that are taken from us, and it just seems so unfair that someone like Nikki, who had so much to offer is taken at such a young age.
I didn't know you personally, Nikki, but yours posts were always vibrant, funny and intelligent. And that's how I imagined you to be. May you rest in peace x
Sending my thoughts to all of Nikki's family and friends at this difficult time x

I'm so sorry for your news.
I didn't know Nikki personally, just through the threads on the DG but reading this post has bought tears to my eyes.
My heart goes out to the family, I just can not ever contemplate losing a parent.
I currently have two family members away at the moment - my brother away with his friends and my mum away on a girly holiday and they are all I think about. I worry and dread hearing the phone in case its one of "them" phone calls. It makes me think about losing one of them and how I would cope and what we would do as the remaining family. Even thinking about it chokes me, which really makes me think about how it must be for you guys right now.
I really cannot find the words that would express the comfort I feel for you and want to provide. Or what I could say or do to make it better.
I can only imagine what you must all be ging through right now but please know our thoughts are with you x

Justin, I am so very sorry to have heard this news. Akin with many of the other posters, I never acctually met Nikki, but counted her as a friend never the less.
It is her humour that I shall miss most - she always made me laugh when she posted with us on the NH threads.
Nothing I can say is adiquate. I feel for you all so deeply.

As I said on the other thread, I am deeply shocked and saddened by this unbelievable news. Kas has painted such a wonderful picture of Nikki for us to have in our memories, along with the lovely photos of Italy that Nikki herself posted.
My deepest sympathy and most sincere condolences go to her family, and I wish them the strength to get through the days ahead.
RIP Nikki Have fun with our beloved friends at Rainbow Bridge.
