I have a place for the london marathon deferred to 2012, I really want to significantly improve my best time (untrained) for a marathon of 5hrs 12 minutes aiming for 4:30 hours so................. I have set myself a target of 1000 in running/training in 2011, a friend has already offered £100 to my favorite charity if I achieve it. Which I plan to be Shy Lowen This will also includes brisk long training walks, walks/runs as I'm only just starting back out in running again after a couple of years off any serious training. I am at 20 miles so far for 2011, so please feel free to support, nag or if you like to, "sponsor" me by donating some money to IHDG charity if I achieve the distance, or if you like per 100 miles from 500 upwards as it is a very challenging task

Wow, Deb. That is a very generous offer and a huge undertaking. Well done for putting yourself up for it. Maybe you could go on to do the Olympics afterwards ?!? Seriously, i will ask Admin to pin this in the charity section later this week so that it doens't get lost,. Thank you xx

Blimey, I make that 20 miles a week, that's pretty good going. I will pledge ten pounds for the first 500 and then five for every hundred miles over the 500. Good luck with it, do keep us up to date with your progress
