anyone who watched the Shy Lowen program tonight, I have made the decision that any money I raise will be donated to this very worthy cause. an opportunity like this could have changed my life as a child

200 miles now well ahead of target, I'd like to try and get at least a months mileage in hand to allow for injury/sick/holidays (whatever holidays are) that was hard work today, cold wet and windy but it means I can have a cake now

been a bit quiet on the training front this week. The old fracture site in my back decided to go twang monday morning when I bent down to put my shoes on, spent the rest of the week on painkillers and struggling to walk upright. the downside of that, compensating for the damaged area has caused problems higher up my back. guess I get off lightly considering two fractures of the same site :< Plus note, last night I managed a 1 mile ish plod without too many problems, and today a 9.5 mile walk (including stop to get new running shoes :> ) without any problems, and joined the local gym that has a physio and a swimming pool. induction tomorrow (albeit it a very careful one) and I can't waitto get in the pool and the sauna so, still on track, just a minor hitch

officially on the injured bench for at least a week. physio on my back today, the flare up last Monday was more serious than I realised, the whole area is inflamed and has set off a nerve (not sciatica thankfully) on the right side as well. had acupuncture and tens today and they have taped the area around the old fractured vertebra to support it and relieve any pressure. No running for at least a week :< still given the originally injury should have paralyzed me I got off lightly. On a plus note I have nearly two weeks of mileage in hand so should still be on track just hugely frustrating

just reporting in, total so far is 332 so still up on the mileage despite a dodgy hip triggered by the back problem. the acupuncture worked a treat on my back though have included swimming (well, more specifically, drowning avoidance) to my training plan and trying to get to grips with front crawl. a month in and I can now do two lengths back to back of front crawl I'm sure it wasn't this difficult at school, actually, I remember, it was, so I didnt' do it did my first race of the year in April a 10k which I did in 59.32 minutes, very happy with that as training had ground to a halt due to my back anyway, shall keep plugging away, not a fan of running in the heat though so not doing great mileage at the mo :S

Thank you for doing this - we've had 11 colts castrated this week and have another 10 to do so all your efforts will go towards making a safe future for these little guys. Not sure they'll see it the same way but when needs must..........
