Greenlands and Gleneagles!

Well, two down...but they were very very good shows. Highlights for me were the Washing line phobic horse at Greenlands, and then the loader at Gleneagles.
I have to say, that Monty was having a lot of fun at Gleneagles....We saw a lot more loader orientated work at this venue. Not just the bridge, but also the narrow panels, and tarp tunnel! AND as usual....Monty had a few more "flukes"!!!
Also, just wanted to say a big thank you to the helpers at both venues, you all worked your little thermal socks off...Monty said in the show, and afterwards, that he thought the Round pen breakdown, and Trek set-up at Gleneagles was the smoothest, quickest, and most impressive he has seen...DJ....Donald, and the rest of you who work so hard that night....THANK YOU!
AND...another thing...wanted to also say thank you to the folks who loved my pictures...(shameless plug coming...) They are available from my website (as will the helper pictures for free)..and if anyone is near Windsor Racecourse this weekend. I have my own stand at this years Xmas Live Craft fair...pop in and say hello

As the new kids on the block Lou, Copy and I wanted to thank everyone connected with the tour core team and all the helpers for making us so welcome. We really fet part of the team - it was great. We had a ball and loved every minute. Like Simon I thought 'The loader' at Gleneagles was very special.
Pie and Copy too performed brilliantly at both venues have become great stable mates. They are both awesome horses.
Roll on the 17th............and the next show

Simon,
If things went smoothly it was because it was so well managed!
Having teams (and repsonsible core members) for each task certainly works a treat.
It was the closest demo I've ever attended (5 inches from the horses bum is pretty close)..
The loader was very interesting indeed. The heart rate monitor gives some real added value!
I cannot wait for the scientific papers on Monty's challenge to come out.
(O.K. I don't lift panels for a living ...)
The Gleneagles crew were good with the parking. it was well planned and executed. A few sour faces from drivers 'because those 4x4 drivers could par near the entrance'. Well, try and get your Nissan Micra out of the loose sand then.... ;-)
John, Copy is a real star and I hope he had a good trip home!
Hopefully until next year!
DJ

Thanks Simon,
As ever it was a fantastic evening and yet again it was a real privilege to work with Monty, Kelly and all the IH team. It was great to see so many friendly faces both old and new, we had a fantastic team of helpers and everyone put everything they had into the night. It always amazes me how much commitment, energy and enthusiasm you get from the volunteers right through the whole 12 hours from 1 o clock right through until the last bit of equipment gets put away!
I have to echo DJ's comments about the organization of the show, everything was very well communicated to us volunteers and everyone knew exactly where to be and what to do, well done to the team for that.
I was fascinated to see the work with the heart rate monitor and particularly with the loader it was amazing to see just how quickly the heart rate changed throughout the work Monty was doing!
The best part of the evening for me was the young girl who came up to Monty's signing stand and, overwhelmed with emotion, burst into tears as she told Monty her story. She brought a tear to my eye and I could see that Monty was really touched too. If ever there was a defining moment for why I was there, that was it! Thankfully she came back a while later and got a wonderful photo with Monty that I'm sure she'll treasure for a very very long time.
Donald

I missed that at Gleneagles. It is something wonderful to see people make that sort of connection.
Cheers again
